I'm watching many news stories and reading accounts of the alleged rape accusations by a number of women against Bill Cosby and have mixed feelings.
Is it a conspiracy of all these women, or is it possibly true that something happened and a massive cover-up by powerful Hollywood associates of his. Did they conspire to hide the truth?
Why would over 13 women come out after decades; they have nothing to gain.
He is one of the most beloved personalities in the entertainment world and an inspiration to youth. Now many are feeling deceived, including me.

Another fake TV star portraying himself as a clean-cut family man.

I admire Rock stars more and more, at least they're honest about being addicts, alcoholics and perverts (in the sense of consensual adult sex only of course, paedophiles and rapists like Gary Glitter are scum)

Conspiracy against him is a possibility from all directions.  Two obvious options:

    1) It wouldn't be the first time "Hollywood associates" covered up criminal activity by their own.

    2) It wouldn't be the first time "Hollywood associates" turned on their own for speaking out and taking a stand for conservative issues.

Though I do not think the man has in general lived in such a way that he should be held up as a role model, I do appreciate that he has spoken words of value and done certain things in order to try to encourage people to take opportunities to elevate their lives. That said…

It is indeed possible that the women could have something to gain if they were being paid by people from option 2 above.    Though I've only heard bits of most of the scandal, I did hear one smear in which a woman claimed he drugged and attacked her but she told no one all those years ago.  Then she went out drinking with him again, and guess what, it happened again.

I could have believed the first report, even including a motivation not to tell anyone, but it is difficult to believe either story now.  Again, not because I think the man is a saint, but to ever again interact with a man who drugged and raped you is not something worth admitting unless there is something to gain from it.

Since she admits she was drinking with him a second time her surprise at either incident she claims to have endured is beyond belief.  All things considered, option 2 seems viable, and she may become quite wealthy because of her accusation. It wouldn't be the first time that ever happened, either.

I don't know about the others but I don't believe a word that comes out of Janice Dickinson's mouth. She also claimed Sylvester Stallone was the father of her child when he wasn't. She always seems to pop up to get attention. I saw her being interviewed and her eyes were popping all over the place (some say a sign of lying).

She broke down in tears at an interview a few days ago. She was so hysterical that a doctor was summoned. She is a flake for sure and not that credible I believe. Maybe this incident started her drug use? Who knows.

They are not coming out after decades. Look at Google, two of the complaints are many years old, eleven are from about a year ago when an investigation was made in conjunction with a civil suit that he settled (probably with a lot of cash), and one is new.  The meme incident just made it come back into the media. And that is of the cases publicly known, cases taken direct to the police would be held confidential.

What he may be guilty of is up in the air but being a beloved media figure has nothing to do with it.  Look at Rolf Harris, Jimmy Saville and Gary Glitter -- all proven sexual preditors.

Another accuser who came forward who has lead a quiet life and works as a nurse?  The 7 non-anonymous complainants do not know each other, come from different walks of life, but all recall being given pills and raped when they were in their late teens.  Pretty big coincidence. Statute of limitations is over so I guess it is what it is.

Frank Scotti, a 90-year-old ex-NBC employee, is the latest to go public with stories of Bill Cosby’s past.

Scotti, who worked as a facilities manager for the Brooklyn NBC Studio where “Cosby Show” was filmed, told the New York Daily News that he arranged for monthly payments and more for eight women during “The Cosby Show’s” run from 1984-1992. He claimed some women would receive as much as $2,000 at a time.

“He had everybody fooled,” Scotti said to the Daily News. “Nobody suspected.”

I haven't followed the news stories but it doesn't look like a conspiracy with what I have read.  It appears some are simply ready to come forward with these allegations. It's a societal problem when humans are elevated into such a celebrity status that they are perceived as incapable of doing wrong.

Hollywood has protected criminal behavior since the silver screen. There are too many hanger-ons that depend on his money to be virtuous...roll

According to comedian Patton Oswalt, Bill Cosby's errrr... "extra-curricular activities" have been well known amongst the stand up comic fraternity for quite some time.
