you hear the phrase blacker than the blackest black beyond infinity and imagination?  What images COME to mind?

Well, there's no such thing as "beyond infinity", but I might think of the deep voids between galaxy clusters.  That's certainly beyond our imagination as humans.

Beyond infinity was used metaphorically and figuratively.  I meant to the most extreme degree.  By the way, your response is good.

Yeah, I know.  I guess it's like a pet peeve, like when people say "literally" when they really don't mean it.  Is this for a writing project, or just for fun?

For fun, it's just a word game.  I LOVE word games.

I think of the black hole where things must be put for safe keeping, never to be found again. I know the black hole exists, but it cannot be seen. Perhaps this one I speak of is in a wall? wink

Infinity and beyond, in that order, makes me think of "Toy Story", such a cute movie.

Negative-A hell beyond imagining.  Unredeemable and unforgivable evil.  Total abject despair and hopelessness.  Excruciating agony beyond imagination and description.  The 10th circle of hell. Utter desolation and bleakness.

Positive-The beginning of the beginning. Dark sumptuousness. Soft, delicious cotton velvet. Luxuriant mink. African beauty/ handsomeness. The Mother/Father of all cultures and civilizations.  Sensuousness beyond compare.  Dark, moonless nights.

I think of Attack the Block, carbon nanotubes, and Buckyballs.

Actually, I went into my bathroom (an interior room without windows) and closed my eyes a few weeks ago.  Then I pulled out my phone and drew an image on its tiny screen based on shapes my mind's eye saw in the pitch blackness.

I overlaid about a hundred images drawn lightly with my pinky fingernail and added in some random scribbles in black on top of them.  I think it turned out kind of interesting.  It reminds me of seeing shapes and faces in cracks in the wall.  Rotate the image to see more things popping out of the darkness in it.

Yes, there are some outlines of nude women in there but they have no real details to them, they are just full of squiggly lines inside partial outlines, mostly just bits of other images.  There are only actual details of some of the faces and those are still incredibly vague. There are a lot of faces and hands in it but I won't bother listing what else I put in there.  The things people think they see are far more interesting, anyway.

Please be forgiving of the quality of the drawings inside the image.  The screen I drew it on was only 1.5" by 2.5" and not the best touchscreen in the world.

          Exactly.

I was going for disturbing imagery, like the shapes one might imagine in the cracks on a wall if one could see cracks in the wall in absolute darkness and one were utterly live-wire terrified. So, darker than merely just black, the stuff of nothingness, fear, and mortality.
