Sorry but I am new and a transplant from Squidoo, whereas HubPages took over them in Sept 2014 and I'm not sure about everything on HubPages just yet.

    1)  I do not see the ability to float left (only float right) and no color ink, just black, and no way to adjust the space around your pictures, etc etc.  I do see on the toolbar along with bold, italics, underline, hyperlink etc  - -  a way to "change html" a button on the far left.  Is that what that is for?

    2)  The other reason I ask, is because after typing some text, and then say I want to add a picture and have it wrap around the text and then more text and then another pic etc - - then I thought the text capsule would allow that, but instead it asks me to give a Title of the pic, as if that is separate from the paragraph or thought I was trying to convey, and really it doesn't need it's own title (only sources cited) and goes with the chunk of text.

Then it will resume with more text as if that is another text capsule (again asking for a title) when really it was all one capsule that was just broken up by some pictures to add some color and variety to an otherwise boring look to it.  Audiences (readers) like pictures instead of 3,000 words of text with nothing to break it up.

When my Squidoo lenses transferred over to this HubPages layout - it took every picture and considered it a break in thought and the template or the computer program wants me to give a title to the next couple paragraphs, but it's the same subject, same thought.  I do try on many occasions to break up the page with several "text" capsules if I feel subheadings are appropriate or am making several points that each need a whole section dedicated to themselves, but sometimes I don't need to and it doesn't make sense to, so how can I get around what the computer wants to do.  Can I write my own HTML?  Or is all of it templates?  I know some HTML formatting, if it will allow me.

HubPages tries to keep a consistent format, so no, you can't left align and those types of formatting changes.

Adding text into separate capsules help with the layout because you can move other capsules, such as images and polls around it.

You are not required to add a title to every capsule, so if it is about the same topic, just do not add a subtitle.

There are templates that are available.
You can also start from a blank Hub and add the capsules that you would like.
There are limited layout options on the HubTool.
While we do allow the option to edit HTML directly for a capsule, only a small subset of the full HTML tags are supported and much of it may be stripped out when you save.

If you have a Hub layout that you would like to use for a new Hub, you can also select "Copy Layout From Another Hub" in the Hub Format section.
