Hub Not Published for Quality

I have two hubs that are not published because of quality. Both are Fragrance reviews. I've had other similar hubs published, so I'm confused as to what is keeping these from being published. This has been a frustrating road block that is keeping me from writing further hubs.

    Here is the first link:
    http://melindalongoria.hubpages.com/hub … en-Perfume

    Second:
    http://melindalongoria.hubpages.com/hub … en-Perfume

If you can give me any helpful tips or direction of specific things that I need to fix, I would really appreciate it. Thank you in advance.

Melinda, if you go into edit mode on the hubs, a box at the top will tell you what needs to be corrected, added, etc.

I checked out your first link and it is clear that you directly plagiarized wording from the professionally written advertisement.  Plagiarism is unethical and is also illegal, and if the company that paid a fortune to have this ad created finds out you copied their wording in any way, you could be sued.  It is pretty clear as to why this was not published.  The TOS says all work is to be ORIGINAL..., this hub clearly does not meet that criteria. If you have others that have been created the same way, you need to remove them yourself before you get into trouble.

Compare the verbiage on the Sephora website http://www.sephora.com/coco-mademoiselle-P12495
Sexy, fresh Oriental fragrance recalls the irrepressible spirit of the young Coco Chanel.

to some of the text in the first hub
sexy, fresh, oriental scent...The fragrance was inspired by the irrepressible spirit of the young Coco Chanel,...

        hmmm.....

        hmm

You're getting some good advice.  Firstly, just because other Hubs slipped through the QAP doesn't necessarily mean they're OK.  Different moderators are working at different times and they may rate things differently.

As others have said, just regurgitating the blurb from the manufacturer isn't acceptable.  If you haven't tried the perfume yourself so you can write about it in your own words, don't do the review!

I felt that there wasn't enough solid information about one perfume to make a solid Hub, so you had to resort to "fluff" to fill it out.   Consider comparing two or three similar perfumes (e.g. with the same top note) or comparing several perfumes by the same manufacturer.  I would also cut out the part about how to assess perfume and turn that into a separate Hub about perfumes in general - how to choose them, different styles of perfume, how to store them so they last etc. Then you can simply refer to that Hub in each of your fragrance Hubs.

You mention an "about the author" section which you've now removed.  For the future, note that you are not allowed to put an "about the author" section in a Hub.

They have been published but not featured.  I suspect one issue may be your link to the maternity clothes site which is off topic.

Thank you. I will make that change and see if it helps. I include that in a lot of my hubs because it's an about author section.

It is the sort of thing effected by the anti-spam rules changes a month or so ago.

It's probably best to remove that from your hubs if it's not directly related to hub content.  Also in looking at a few more of your perfume reviews, make sure you're not repeating content.  Product review hubs should have some experiential element in the text.

Add more words and remove any unrelated capsule.

I read the first one about Coco Mademoiselle (my personal all-time favorite fragrance, btw) and the article doesn't make it clear that you've ever tried the perfume. It seems as if you're simply regurgitating Chanel's promotional materials on this product. You give personal experience when explaining about perfume notes in general, but from the article I can't tell that you've ever used this particular product yourself.

Also, the paragraph "Please feel free to use the buy-it-now links throughout this hubpage to order your Coco Mademoiselle from eBay" reinforces the feeling that this review is mainly just an ad.

I would rewrite it based upon your personal experience with the fragrance. I think it needs much more personalization, whether it is a cute anecdote about something romantic, funny or exciting that happened to you when you were wearing the fragrance, or what memories come flooding in when you smell it, or how you would describe the fragrance (using the word "I").

Sounds like you could write a good review of it yourself!

To add personal comments about a scent all you need is to go to a mall and try the testers.

I had a feeling that I would know before looking but I checked both of them. If the other Hubs were the same it is because they are promotional - seems like they are selling an item - and you have too many ads in the Hubs. That has been changed to having an extra 100 words for each ad or having less ads in each Hub, I forget which. Try putting only one ad in and when you finish writing it, add another 100 words.
