I just had an object lesson in why it's never a good idea to push the limits of Adsense.
I published a short story here called The Working Girl. It passed all HubPages filters and the QAP. Obviously with that title it IS about what you think it is, but it's a humorous short story and everything is done with innuendo, no blatant sex and no nudity involved.
I just received an email from Adsense telling me I have three days to remove it or I'll lose my Adsense account!!
The point is, that story has been published for over a year -- which just goes to show what we always thought, that just because something is published doesn't mean it's acceptable, it may just mean they haven't noticed yet.
Needless to say, I've unpublished it!
I haven't had that happen from a Hub but I have gotten one of those three day notices on content that had been up for a decade on my personal site. It's interesting to see how the Internet has changed since the 90s.
Thank you for sharing this Marisa. I guess we have to be on the lookout for their mail . . . just in case!
Nice of you to bring this forward as an object lesson for others.
I think the important point for this is -- what if that email had gone into my spam folder and I'd missed it? What if I was in hospital and couldn't read my email for three days, or out in the wilds on a long hike? I would have lost my Adsense account!
So it's best not to rely on getting that email in time - just do the sensible thing and err on the safe side when choosing subjects.
You're right, so good that you got a warning with specific information about how to fix it. Did you have the option of simply taking off the ads on that one hub?
No, because it's not about whether there are ads on that one article - it's about whether I have offending material on my site, (which I take to mean my sub-domain).
Millionaire Tips,
Prior to about five years ago just removing ads from an offending page would have been considered as having fixed the issue but now if Google can still find the violating content within whatever site they are scanning, they will interpret the site as still being in violation even if AdSense is not on that specific page.
I know this because of specific notices I've gotten from Google about pages with sensitive content which did not have AdSense ads on them, and it was the same three day notice saying remove the violation or lose your entire account.

Hi to all there! I hope that u all are fine! Hi To Hubpages team, What I am going to suggest is to add Chitika ads (similar to adsense) to Hubpages earnings. I'm saying so because there are many people whose adsense account are banned forever. This feature should be added to Hubpages as it will...
