   ... I'm still working on a hub that I started last year at the end of Summer. Ha! Now, it's outdated as it suits the summer more than winter. When I'm finally done, its sister hub will be out in Summer when it's really suited for winter. So, I'm a bit backwards, I guess. What's the longest it's taken you to complete a hub and get it posted?

      Yes I jot down titles I want to write on and maybe add something now and then or get so busy a few never get touched for months. Now and then I decide I will never do anything with one and delete it but mostly they sit!

      I've heard they get higher scores if you let them sit awhile before publishing, so it actually helps.

      Actually you might've accidentally done yourself a favour.
      
      I've never written a seasonal Hub but I'm told that if you want to write a Christmas Hub, you should publish it in July to give it time to gain traction before the holidays.   If you publish it too close to Christmas it will just get swamped in the rush.

   I have about 20 behind the scenes that are being worked on. I tend to think of something that I intend to write about eventually, and start off a Hub to remind myself of the topic and to finish it one day! So it's not just you!

   I start to write hubs on Word, then paste them to the HubTool when I feel they're taking shape. If I don't manage to get them finished within a couple of weeks, I delete them.
   
   Right now, the only hub I have that isn't published is one I unpublished a few days ago. It had been up for five years and badly needs reinventing, but I might just delete it if I can't figure out how. And I'm currently working on a new hub, which is still in Word.

   Mine are usually up and running within a day of creating the title - I am not good at working on one over a long period of time (I think that's from spending many years on tight news deadlines).  I created a few titles that never had content entered in them, so I end up nuking the titles after a long period of procrastination & guilt.

   I am pretty sure I read in a forum 2-3 months ago, where Paul E. was saying that if you let a hub sit too long unpublished it's score will be lowered. I remember making a mental note of that and compared the fact to other sites.

   By the time you are done with last year's Summer hub it will be Summer again. Separate last year's Summer hub from this year's Winter hub. If you do not finish the Winter hub, there is always next Winter to look forward to.
