What keeps you going in life, whether it be writing or something else, and why is writing your passion?

Writing is like spilling your thoughts so they form part of a continuance of something that began in your life and germinated in your mind into coherence. At least, that is how it is for me. Letting ideas and thoughts flow like a river, not quite sure where it flows, but flow it does. Passion is an intense feeling, and writing to me is an intense experience which sets me free.

I consider both my real work (translation) and writing to be entertaining activities that keep my brain fit and provide some interest, while the translation side also brings in enough money to keep me very content with life.

I am certainly not "passionate" about either and dislike the way this word has been so trivialised that it now merely means enjoyment.

That's awesome that what you enjoy doing provides you with financial contentment.  I'm a big believer in pursuing what you love and the money and success will come.  To me, nothing is worth it if you aren't happy.  Interesting take on the word passionate.  Interesting to note as well, that the word comes from the latin word "pasionem" which means suffering.  You have to endure and overcome obstacles that life presents you.

Insanity, i write because i am mad enough to think that somebody will smile, cry, or get angry about what i wrote on the digital newspaper called hubpages.

I enjoy taking complicated subjects and making them simple. There's something satisfying about reading and understanding something, learning the key points and context and then breaking that down into bite-sized parts.

I write because I want to share information with the world! I am passionate about knowing what I put in my body and feed to my family. As a Southerner I also have a lot of old time remedies to share, and the knowledge of many wild plants that my family has been using for generations.

One of the main reasons I write, is that one day my son will be able to read all the things I write. I will not always be around for him to learn from. By writing informative hubs - even his grandchildren will be able to learn from what I have written.

I write for me, as an outlet - it is relaxing. As a stay at home mom, it can be hard to find "me" moments without feeling selfish. At least with writing I can justify those moments with a little monetary gain if I am lucky.

Writing makes me happy, there is plenty of satisfaction in seeing your words weaved into something spectacular (at the very least something good ).

I started writing on HubPages to see if it was worth starting my own blog. I am still have not decided if I should pursue my own blog or not. My son is only 20 months old - so I do not have much free time. Especially being a farmer and with it being planting season.

I love HupPages and being a hubber, it has allowed me to connect with so many like minded people that I otherwise would not have known!

I'm starting to really love HubPages too! You're not too far from me in WV.  I'm in Loudoun County, VA about a 40 minute drive west of D.C.

That is pretty close! I really enjoy the people I connect with here! More so than most "social media" outlets!

My gray area keeps dripping out of my ear sockets that writing is the only way to plug them in. Lol!  I do other things offline.  big_smile
