Recently, since some days, I am experiencing many problems in browsing on HubPages. Whenever I click a hub or the buttons on hubpage toolbar/ menubar, I get landed in some other websites like rdsv.com or adcash.com or image repair tools, even one microsoft repairtool page.
Further, I am witnessing some unbearable images as ads. I am unable to understand how all this is happening.
One website browser address appears at the bottom of my page instead of the hubpages browser when I place my cursor at any button or title of hubs. I am unable to read it clearly as they are very small letters. It is something like the below one and it always changes. But the first portion of it remains the same till "subid" The first letters are not visible it is visible from this place as shown below.
ndary.com/newbidder/click.php?subid2332522CHYF6b18Ag and after this there are many A's some numbers, B or C in between them and some symbols also. I can't read all of the address bar.
How to get rid of all this and protect myself?
Download and run Malwarebytes and that should fix your problem. I use it on all of my computers and it works.
A second vote here for Malwarebytes - It's free and should find and remove the issue. https://www.malwarebytes.org/
Thank you Old Poolman and Paul Maplesden. I shall follow your advice. Presently I am using Avast antivirus since some months and chrome heartbleed.
I had problems similar to yours and Malware bytes fixed all of them.
I cannot but give yet another vote to Malwarebytes. I have AVG - free & updated regularly, as my standard virus scanner. But at one point I had serious problems and an experienced techie used Malwarebytes to get rid of what appeared to be hardware probs. Since then I have it installed and I run it every night. I skip on "smart scan" and set it to check every file.
Yes, it is very scary and horrible also.
run malware and virus scan. When I get this crap, I also search for how to remove xxxxxx. Although it is a trial, download Trojan Killer and run a full scan. I think the trial is 7 days then you have the choice to pay for it or not. You don' t have to provide credit card, etc information in advance, only if you decide to pay for it. I pay for it now, after I have seen it find things that malware and virus scans miss.
Thank you, Linda. I will run malware and see whether it solves my problem.
Now, I hope my problem has been solved. I downloaded the malwarebytes and installed it and went through a full scan of my whole computer. Some threats have been detected and fixed by this software.
Thanks to all for helping me in resolving the issue.

I was reading through one of my own articles and a pop up ad appeared on the screen. I had to find the X and close it before continuing to read the article. If that weren’t bad enough, not 15 seconds later, it popped up again?! Are we really doing pop up ads now? Not only are they obtrusive,...

Ok, here's a new one; at least new to me!Today, I was replying to a comment on one of my hubs, and something green caught my eye in the previous text block of my replies...upon examination, it was a stupid underlined AD LINK from one of the words in my reply! And just a few moments ago, while...

Not long ago my security software ran out, and I wasn't sure which one I wanted to go with. While I was deciding a friend recommended at least installing MalWarebytes (which is free) in the meantime. Sorry for the length of this, but I have a weird mess on my hands. Yesterday morning I...

These are words that I did not add as a link and I am seeing them also in other people's hubs today. I just published a new hub and then when I could not eliminate those links, unpublished it. Is this some type of malware? Is HubPages adding these links? Anyone else noticing...

Yesterday I posted on a forum which some of you did also. The original poster was unhappy with Hubpages. She or he had a couple of threads going. When I read the other thread, I noticed that a very experienced online writer said the poster is a trojan and we are putting ourselves...
