I am back to HP after a long hiatus.
I have published two hubs, and both have been marked as spammy. WTH.
One was a review of a product, and the other, was how to plant chamomile. Nothing spammy about it.
If this is the "new" HP after acquiring Squidoo and making changes, I'm out of here...again.
hmmmm.... you said the name of the product more than once... there was no picture of a cold sore, just a picture of the product....so, spammy.
I don't have a picture of a cold sore, but I was given permission to use the product pic. I wrote about my experience with the product, just like other reviews I have seen on here. Of course I said the name of the product more than once. It's not spammy, and was not intended to be spammy.
mmmm...if that is what spam is then shut down the internet
HubPages has tightened up its rules about what is considered over-promotional or spammy. Here's the forum post, and it links to the blog post.

The blog post shows examples of what is considered acceptable and what is not.
Your Cold Sores hub looks fine to me.
(I did notice two paragraphs that do not have a space between other paragraphs.)
I glanced briefly at the title and the synopsis, and they read like advertisement text. Try wording both more objectively.
I didn't read the content, but one thing that helps is to include comparisons to other products, and to mention negatives. It sounds like you like the product, so that can be a challenge at times, but would you like it to be cheaper, or to come in different sizes, or smell differently?
Did you try other products that don't work? Mention them if you can. Do some other products work more slowly? Could this product be better? Just think about how you'd improve it in some way, and that will give you some ideas for objectivity.
Good luck!
If you had read the article, you would know I did mention other products, but not by name. I talked about how using a prescription and other OTC products made the situation worse. I also talked about how I was looking for an all natural product.
This hub is now a featured hub. The problem is no longer this hub, the problem is HP.
Looks like both are now Featured?
I think it's a pity they've used that word "spammy" as shorthand for not meeting the new guidelines, because writers are bound to feel insulted by it - and often the problem is not "spam" at all.
The most likely reason is that you had an unrelated link in the Hub somewhere. Perhaps a link to your profile, or an Amazon ad that wasn't directly related (tangentially related isn't enough)?
Way to go, Kalmid!!! We'll be looking for more hubs from you!

This is a great feature HP has...flagging Hubs where links within those Hubs are broken. However, just in the last 20 minutes, four of my Hubs showed on My Account page as having broken links. Only one did. (As in, there was no yellow text when looking at those Hubs in edit mode, for three of...

Today we will reduce the number of search driven products that can be displayed to one in the eBay and Amazon capsules. See last week's announcement. Also, when a product capsule is aligned to the right and it has a single product listing, the product picture will now be enlarged. You...

Why does the mention of slavery anger some people? Is it ever appropriate to mention it?There were ugly comments when Michelle Obama mentioned the irony that slaves building the white house and then her living there. Some consider it racist. Some slaves were descendants of...
