   It's my first.

   The text is 100% copied. Just the title is changed. My title was How to be Happy: Quotes from Famous People on Happiness.
   
   There doesn't seem to be a way to contact the owner of the site. What do I do now.

      I tweeted this hub earlier today. I think that is when it was stolen.  The red copyright sign appeared next to the title on my account page.  I googled the domain name. IP address is in Australia.

      The website is hosted by Confluence Networks in India.  Send a DMCA Notice to:
      abuse@confluence-networks.com
      
      Because that company is an affiliate provider of Hostgator Asian Operations Division, I would also send a DMCA Notice to Hostgator on this form: http://www.hostgator.com/dmca

      I just accidently discovered that there is a tab on the "My account page" all the way on the left that says "copied hubs."  When I clicked on it I saw my one copied hub, and a letter I could use to report it.  It did not give an email address for where to send the letter, but I think it might do that in some cases. If I had known to click on this tab, the whole process would have been a lot simpler. I can return to this tab in a day or so to find out if the content has been removed.

      I'm happy to report that my issue is resolved. The thief took the webpage down before HostGator could act on my complaint. (I has written him directly.)  Thank you all for your help and support. This was my first time dealing with copied content.

         congrats! I've had the same thing happen to me a couple of times. The site owner will often just take the page down. If I can't contact the site owner or they won't take it down, I'll then resort to contacting the webhost.

            Some say don't contact the owner, just do the DMCA.  Do others have advice on this?

               Go straight to the ISP. The blog owners are copying content and chances are that they know they shouldn't. I only contact the owner in the rare occasion it's something like a church blog or obviously just someone ignorant of copyright laws.

      My stolen hub issue was resolved very quickly. The thief took down my content. However, the little red "c" is still on the name of the hub in my account list. When does it get removed? Is it bad for my score or something if it is not removed?

   Was trying to find contact information on them for serving a DMCA notice, but it's weird, looks like they are their own host for their own domain. They do have an admin email and also they are registered with hostgator india--I'd start with those for giving them a DMCA notice.    On that page you can see their admin email address. Also, you can google hostgator india and find out how to contact them.

      Thanks for the info on whois.  I found an email address there and sent an email asking that the stolen content be removed and saying that I had filed a DMCA with Hostgator.
      
      Should I have attached a DMCA form to the email address also. Where can I get the template?

   Oh my goodness, i'd be so annoyed! Have you perhaps tried looking up the site on Whois? https://www.whois.net/ This is a domain look up that should tell you who owns the site, maybe you could investigate from there?

   I generally send the DMCA directly to the webhost as this seems to work best. HostGator is very good at removing stolen work from their sites.

         I have found that the majority of time when you send the DMCA to the plagiarist all that it does is give him access to your personal information. This is a disreputable person you are dealing with so I prefer to give them as little extra fuel to abuse as is possible. Generally the host is a much better pathway to having the plagiarized copy removed.

   Just one more thing - I have an email address dedicated to dealing with such matters.
   That way I'm never ever giving the email address I use most often to people who steal things......
