   I keep noticing a comment someone posted is awaiting approval, so I keep clicking that it is not spam, as it seems it is from a longtime hubber here who is active and it does not appear to be spam to me.  However, today, when I clicked on it again to indicate it is not spam, I noticed it stated that the comment was posted 45 years ago ...in 1970!  Where are my stacks?  Peace out ... and flower power.

   Somebody has clock problems.  To those in the computer field, a 1970’s clock time is regarded as symptomatic of an internal clock or time tag being inappropriately zeroed.
   
   Somewhere around the start of the third millennia, the big fear in computers was Y2K viruses (totally not related to WWE superstar Chris Jericho having the sniffles).  Part of the solution was a conversion of time tags to something called POSIX time (not UNIX time).  POSIX time is basically a counter (starting at zero) that counts the number of seconds (or milliseconds, or microseconds, or nanoseconds, or picoseconds, whichever) that have passed since some time near the start of the 1970’s.   When the time tag gets zeroed for some reason, your system will report a date around that time.  It doesn’t know any better.

      That is way above my head and fascinating though!  Okay, so it zeroed out for whatever reason and it has no choice but to say a comment was left back from 1970 ...interesting.  Well, I guess time travel is out for if someone went back, there was not HubPages then LOL ...Kidding, I could not resist that one.
      
      I appreciate the great answer.  If I had done this as a question (guess I should have), I would choose your answer as best, even though you are the only one who has participated here as of yet. 
      
      I will look forward to see if anyone can come up with an even better explanation, but I doubt it ...we'll see.

         Wow, is right ... I am so glad FitnessJim explained all of that, for I would have never guessed in a million years. 
         
         LOL, Mary, well, no that is not me, but it could have been, for my hair was very long like that and I did wear those styles back in the day, more so the first photo.

            Actually, zeroed clocks might make a good premise for a time travel story.  “Whoopsy! Something went wrong with my time machine!”   Science fiction already tells us that the computations are more complex than a Vulcan can do in his head.  Imagine a computer controlled time machine somehow losing power to its internal clock, and it ends up going to the wrong time as a result.  Or imagine a time machine that gets hacked by a time-traveling enemy who seeks to strand you in the 2nd Millennia.  Perhaps a time-traveling investigator discovers the root cause when he reads about it here on Hub Pages.

               Really! Yes, that would indeed make a great premise for a story, movie or novel. You should go for it.  This is all fascinating to me. I truly appreciate you sharing your knowledge in this area.

            Aw, Mary, you are so kind in your generous commenting. I did model a bit in my younger days but that lifestyle was not for me then ...but I will never truly know for I really did not give it a chance.  I think God had a different plan for my life for whatever reason. I hope you are enjoying a lovely Sunday. I am about to be off to enjoy celebrating one of my granddaughters 5th birthday. So that will be joyous!

   This time clock theory by Fitnezzjim is a great and appropriate explanation of the glitches.
   Here, I have it on my computer.
   Daily it starts at 1st January, 2005 and then I have to set it manually to current month and year. Then I can sync the time with windowstime.com. It is because of some battery got exhausted which synchronizes the time. So, since 3, 4 months, I am daily adjusting the time whenever I restart my computer, may be 2, 3 times in a day. That is the clock theory.
   HubPages must be having some similar story with them.
