    Any single ad can be identified and blocked in AdSense.  You can block ads like that in your AdSense preferences, and it will take it out of the rotation when your ad code preferences are in play.  It might still run during the 40% HubPages impression time, but not yours.

    I've been blocking ads I don't like for years.

    Thanks relache!  Always wondered about those ads that make me cringe. We really do have to set aside time for reading up in the Learning Center as often as possible. What we don't know about how HP works can really hurt us.

    Can I ask in relation to ads such as that one, why do they appear?

    Is it because more profitable ads are on the higher viewed pages? Or are they considered successful so HP places them everywhere they can?
