With the present sociopolitical, socioeconomic, sociocultural, and socioreligious climate in America, do you believe that the United States will get BETTER or WORSE in the next 4-8 decades?  Why/why not?

It will get worse. This country will probably fail.

More crime and poverty all the time. It's turning into a socialist welfare state. The income gap is growing by the year. There are no more good jobs for working class families. The middle class(and thus our tax base) is shrinking. Resources are dwindling rapidly.

I don't think anything can save us.

China will take over is my best guess.

America has vast resource. We lead the world. .china  is overpopulated. Over polluted. and has the highest unemployment rate on earth. The gap between the haves and the have not is enormous. .we are china's biggest customer. If we. Fall. China falls.the Americas will be fine.north central and south

I think before the end of this decade, we will slip to rock bottom. After that we will climb back to the top.
      I hope so anyway.
Then we will slip down again. Worse than the first time. Way worse. Things will be bad for another couple decades until finally… those who have incarnated just recently and those who will incarnate, coming from a higher civilization, will understand The Constitution and fight like the dickens to salvage it. They will understand the need for appropriate boundaries and will love the law of justice, not to mention moral codes, and they will finally restore the Freedom offered by a democratic republic of united states under God.

      According to My Crystal Ball.

PS I think other countries will adopt similar constitutions and establish solidly working governments for and by their people, as America restores what was almost lost @ 2045.
I May see this time before I die!
      I hope so anyway.

There will be a class divide reminiscent of late 18th century France.  The wealthy will be more so, the middle class will shrink significantly, and there will be an ever growing lower class. This class divide will be greatly exacerbated by further computerization.  Those who are technically savvy will be part of the wealthier classes while those who aren't technically savvy will become part of the poorer classes.  Liberal arts education will be even more meaningless and the value of a Bachelor's Degree will become even less.  In order to attain a minimally professional position it is imperative that one has at least a Master's Degree.  Higher level professional position will require a Ph.D. or postdoctoral studies.

A Bachelor's Degree within the next 40 or so years will be equivalent to a high school diploma or less.  This future world will require advanced levels of education.  Those who do not have at least a Master's Degree will be the lower socioeconomic echelons.  Service jobs will be increasingly computerized thus being phased out as manufacturing jobs were from the middle to late 1970s.  In addition to service jobs, other lower level white collar jobs will be phased out.  The solidly middle and lower middle classes will join the lower class if they do not upgrade their technological/technical skills.  Since the lower and solidly middle classes will be phased out, only the upper middle classes will remain because they have a specialty in addition to advanced education.  The upper middle classes because of their in demand skill and education set will eventually be the lower upper class.  Now that I have said that, I am now going to bed for a nice, long sleep.  Good night all and continue the discussion.

Well, I hope its no worse than that!
Thanks for that glimpse into your Crystal Ball!
          I see war.
I see a situation more like the movie, "The Road."
But, I think we will be invaded.
We will live a topsy turvy life during this time.
We could even loose computer capability all together.
We will have to live by our wits and common sense...
Our guns, tenacity and fierce determination to hang on to our soil.
          But, we will win.

(For instance: "A pair of would-be jihadists learned a very important lesson over the weekend – in America, we shoot back. The men, believed to be radicalized roommates from Phoenix, tried to launch an attack on a gathering of freedom-lovers in of all places – the Lone Star State. "
          http://www.foxnews.com/opinion/2015/05/ … -back.html)

or I could be way off track.
Maybe it will be cyber war. Maybe, through the internet, outside forces will … never mind. lol

          Cyberwarfare:
politically motivated hacking to conduct sabotage and espionage.
It is a form of information warfare sometimes seen as analogous to conventional warfare.

The future will belong to those who have a high, even advanced education and skill set.  Those who are specialists will survive, even thrive while those who are generalists will subsist, even fall into the ever growing lower economic classes.  This lower economic class will consist of the déclassé solidly middle class in addition to the lower middle class who become poor in increasing number as blue and the lowest level of service jobs are phased out in addition to working poor whose jobs definition are phased out due to computerization and automation and the non-working underclass.  Within the next 4 decades, this class will have the toughest times as living conditions become more and more expensive.  This lower class will find it increasingly difficult to purchase even the necessities.

This future world will only be suitable for the affluent classes-the very small remnant of the upper middle classes who will be absorbed into the lower upper classes and the rest of the upper classes.  Those with advanced education and high skill sets will eventually advance into the upper classes.  Life for them will be quite easy, even luxuriant.  Everything will be at their disposal, including exercising their political prerogative.  This affluent class will even have more power than ever in society.  They will exert more influence over politicians, businesses, and even determine what others should watch and/or read.  In relation to the growing lower class, they will view such class as a threat to their particular societal order.  They will cut any social and/or welfare programs and/or other reforms in relation to the lower classes.  Prisons will be built to house the lower classes. The lower classes will be viewed as excesses, even burdens in this future society..   My mother stated four decades ago that in the future, there are going to be two classes-the VERY RICH and the VERY POOR, NO MIDDLE CLASS.
