Someone Explain the Earnings System To Me

   So I joined hubpages pretty much exclusively to earn passive income writing articles online. I wrote my 5 articles, each one ranking with over 75 hubscore. They all become featured. They all bring in 100 views a day.
   
   However, when I signed up for the earnings program it's telling me I need an AdSense account........but there's already Ad's all over my posts. So basically i'm NOT getting paid anything right now and hubpages is making revenue off of my writing? What sort of payment model is this?
   
   I suppose it's my own fault for not looking into things closer. I can't apply for an AdSense account until I have more content...but honestly I don't think it's worth writing 15 more articles, only to have hubpages place more ads on the sides and not compensate me.
   
   Someone correct me if i'm wrong and explain the earnings system. ( I know about Amazon and Ebay, although it appears I need an AdSense account there too.)

      For the most part, you will need an AdSense account, and we recommend applying once you have 10 high-quality Hubs (you're half way there).
      
      But in the meantime, you can also earn from your own Amazon Affiliate account, which you can read more about here: http://hubpages.com/learningcenter/crea … te-account
      
      It does take a bit of time and effort to get approved for Google AdSense; it used to be much easier, but Google has raised the requirements over the years for various reasons. However, once you have an AdSense account, you'll be able to earn other places online as well (like from your own blogs and websites, YouTube, etc).

   Until you have adsense, those ad revenues go to hubpages.  You could turn of the ads, but why bother?  Either way you won;t earn anything.

   Same problem here mate, first le me congrats you on reaching the 75 score, and secondly on bringing 100 for each hub, this is so well, in other words, you are talented.
   I faced the same problem to get an adsense account verfied you need to get at least 10 featured hubs, in the mean time for my i disabled the adsence ads on my articles at least that way my amazon ads will be more attractive to visitors, though I am planing if and when i reach that 10 featured articles I will join the adsence program.

   Apply when you reach the ten article mark, but don't be surprised if it takes 20 or so articles, plus an account that is at least a month or two old, before AdSense approves you.
   
   Don't worry too much about missing out on revenue at the moment. Unless you are getting thousands of views a day, the ads on your articles are earning only a few pennies a day. You are off to a great start, but its doubtful your articles are earning much at all right now. Build your account up, get approved for AdSense, and then keep writing more articles. It typically takes a good amount of content to earn more than a few pennies every day (but naturally that depends upon how popular your content is).

   The thing is, if you write more articles then you will be getting paid for them vs. hubpages simply making money off of your content. The poster above is right as well, it takes more than a few hundred views to earn a decent amount on here. Focus on your content and writing the best you can, and the rest will come eventually.  Best of luck!
