Dell Computers Have Become Very Bad

    After many years of using Dell and their Commercial ProSupport for our business, I have recently found their products to be junk and support useless.  Two recent computers needed new motherboards within months, and they won't help with support issues.  They will only replace hardware under regular warranties, but because their computers seem to be sub-standard, they will cause lots of other issues.  In fact, on two recent incidents on separate computers, we were told to PAY for support from other companies--Supportrix and Microsoft--to get our issues fixed.  Now we've paid for three years support from Dell, into which we're about five months, and have to pay someone else too.  I've gone to their "Resolution Expert Center" but they're ducking responsibility also.  Don't buy Dell computers!

      Agreed. I was a longtime Dell customer, and my previous machines have all worked well, and lasted longer than they should have. I bought a Dell two years ago, and it would have been my third, but it was a bug-infested mess from the day it arrived. After two weeks of constant blue screens and bug hunting, I finally sent it back for a refund, after much wrangling with their outsourced support, which is designed to thwart customers from getting the help they need. Then, I took my previous Dell in to a computer repair shop, and had them replace the dying hard drive, and just load Windows and the necessary drivers, wiping out all the Dell bloatware that came with it. Nary a peep out of it since.

      I will not be buying another Dell, even though they send me weekly ads in the mail, which just make me say ugly things under my breath. The next box will be built for me by the computer repair guys.

      I also strongly agree. I'm on my second PC and have gone through numerous laptops.  I have seen a steady decline over the past decade (especially in the laptops).  And don't even get me started on the support staff.  Not sure where to go next, but it will take a lot for me to purchase another Dell.

      They seemed cool with their Alienware brand but no. They are not really  good. I agree with you. Dell is a scented version of Hp.
      If any of you guys want PCs, buy ASUS or Toshiba.

    I had a Dell Desktop which was fine. Then laptop had a bad hard-drive, but with warranty they sent a tech out to take care of that. I spilled liquids that got into motherboard.  My next one is a Toshiba.  If I ever get another one, it will be an ACER.

    I've purchased about 200 Dell desktop PCs and 90 Dell Latitude laptops in the last 9 months. I had a power supply fail in one machine and a motherboard problem in another. Both were replaced without question the next business day.

      I would venture to say that if you're buying in that kind of volume, you're not going to get the same poor customer service as someone who just buys one every couple of years.
