Nuns aren't forced to dress the way they do.
And a terrorist is a terrorist.
Nuns are required to dress that way to fill a particular role in their religion. They feel that duty to dress in a specific way in the same way that any person with strong convictions about appropriate dress as dictated by a holy book feels it.
And a terrorist is indeed a terrorist, regardless of their religion or lack thereof. This nation has been attacked by terrorist who are Muslim, Christian and atheist. This should have zero effect on how we treat our citizens of faith, or indeed those without.
First of all, I believe your premise to be flawed. Discrimination happens against many people, not just Muslims. Remember Nazi Germany? It was the Jews who were persecuted back then. And look at the outpouring of hatred against LGTB people still going on.
1) I have never heard of a Muslim being judged solely on account of having a beard. Other things come into play, mainly actions.
2) Nuns dress as they do by choice, and also, their entire face is exposed. They are not required to view the world anonymously through only eye-slits in their garb. (The photo shows that!) Muslim women are forced to dress as they do--that is oppression. (Also--many modern nuns no longer wear a habit; they wear ordinary street clothes, and you would not recognize them as nuns in a public place.)
3) The definition of "defending your land" is fighting intruders who enter your area, not going into another's area and attacking them. When you do the latter, you are at best an instigator of war, and at worst, yes, a terrorist. (And, there are also domestic terrorists--those people who go on rampages and attack others within their own country.)
Part of the problem is the perpetration of a fear-based government, in which the party currently in the majority (as of 2015), wants to have an enemy for "everyone" to hate, so they can focus the public's attention on that non-issue, while they go about scheming behind closed doors to further their own agenda of trying to dismantle our freedoms and serve their own bank accounts.
