Not sexy-new trend armpit hair

   Have you heard of this new trend?  Stars and followers are coloring their armpit hair and electing not to rid themselves of their underarm hair. This is not Europe. My opinion, disgusting? What do you think? What are these women trying to prove- Manliness? Someone please explain who started this trend and why this is happening?

      realtalk247, I believe over in Europe it's not uncommon to see women who either don't shave their underarms or their legs. I've also seen women who had thin mustaches too.
      
      I suspect in the  U.S. we're culturally accustom to women shaving or removing all hair from their bodies aside from their head and eyebrows. Most of todays porn actresses are featured with no pubic hair.
      (So I've been told).
      
      I even saw an ad somewhere for removing anal hair and bleaching one's anus. We have lots of products geared towards women to remove their "unsightly hair" from arms, legs, lips, and chin. Laser hair removal products are the big rage and bikini waxes are still in vogue.
      There may be a small niche group who see themselves as rebelling against the status quo! They may want to be avant garde.
      It's just a phase for them. Eventually they'll conform to cultural standards.   
      
      Some women see it as being another "double standard". In other words why is okay for man to have hair under his arms is the question they ask. Some women also see it as a double standard that they {have to} wear bathing tops while men can walk along the beach without them.
      
      It's also possible these women simply don't care what other people think!

         I know different strokes for different folks. Double standard- definitely.  I'm sorry, while bathing is the most important I think there is nothing more "gross" than a woman that has a bunch of hair under her arms. That's just my opinion.  Coloring the hair under the arms just makes it worse, in my opinion.  Sometimes I wonder how far women are trying to go -whats the purpose. 
         I'm sure as a man less men are a fan of searching through bushes for the promised land.  While one may not choose to wax, shaving at least is appropriate if you grow hair down south.  Now women are trying to have bushes under their arms?  What the deuce?

   I have never been really bothered by anyone's body hair so long as it was clean and free of parasites. If you live in a big diverse city and frequently take public transportation, you learn that the only  aspect of people's grooming routines worth caring about is whether they bathe every day.

      Absolutely.  We all have little things that attract or do not attract us.  But people out in the world should just do whatever they want with their hair so long as they are clean and not smelly.
