Imagination & Intuition-- twin engines of human existence/persistence

   As engines go, nothing could compare to the power of imagination and intuition in rapidly  progressing the  trajectory of man's existence and persistence. Albert Einstein himself said the following: (1) "The true sign of intelligence is not knowledge but IMAGINATION."  (2) "Logic will get you from A to B, but IMAGINATION will take you everywhere." (3) "The only real valuable thing is INTUITION."
   
   The greatest scientific mind of the 20th century seemed to suggest that  the scientific purview of which he knew a lot about  (and  which the  secularists/materialists/ physicalists  in our midst view as the sole  reason for that rapid  progress)  relies heavily on imagination and intuition? Interesting, that two seemingly  different non-scientific, non-empirical  modalities could be responsible for all of man's  scientific advancement.
   
   Score one ... or two for the humanly conscious mind.

      Why is that shocking?  It should be self-evident that imagination/intuition are the driving forces for many discoveries.  Of course, the hard part is knowing that either one has provided a true answer - that's where the real drudge work begins.

         What is shocking and stunning is you now singing the praises of the role of imagination and intuition in human undertaking. You used to denigrate  the value of imagination and intuition, be it in personal development or professional achievement, or  empirical investment.  So what changed?....or to be more nonchalant...what gives?

            No, you just take what is said and twist it into something that fits into your personal belief system.  I've always said that both are extremely important to both people and their ability to discover.
            
            Imagination drives not only art but the sciences as well (what would happen if I did this) and intuition drives science hard (I bet this would happen).  The only real difference between what you do and that of scientist is that a scientist continues on to find out if the imagination/intuition was right, while you just assume it is because you don't have any other answer.

               Assumptions have no role in imaginations and intuitions. In fact those terms are oxymorons.
               
               You know of course that answers to questions depends upon the validity of those questions. Some questions should never be answered in as much as the one asking the question has lost all credibility.

                  You are quite wrong: intuition comes as much from assumptions (that the stories granny told were true) as anything else.  So does imagination.
                  
                  But you're right in that many questions have no answers.  "Is there a spiritual, immaterial, undetectable god?" is one such, as is "Is there an immaterial undetectable spirit?".  You're also right in that the person asking such questions, or giving the answers to them, loses much credibility.

                     Imagination is defined as a person's ability to form and develop concepts, images and even sensations in his(her) mind, as such it is a creative tool to serve as a response to one's personal desires and intentions.
                     
                     Intuition is a person's ability to acquire knowledge without necessarily having anything on which to base this knowledge, except maybe experience, so called experiential knowledge, as opposed to didactic knowledge.
                     BOTH intuition and imagination help us to acquire knowledge. Assumpitons MOST Certainly NOT.

                        You forget the part where intuition is being based on past history/knowledge.  Otherwise intuition is nothing more than imagination, yet the two are very, very different.
                        
                        Nor does imagination OR intuition give knowledge; that comes from testing the conclusions of either one to determine if it is true or not.  And, just as either intuition or imagination can start the road to knowledge, so can an assumption.

                           Sorry to burst your bubble, but  assumption most certainly do not start the road to knowledge. In fact making assumptions are a way to force an answer to something you are unsure about.... making assumptions ENDS the search for an answer ie knowledge, because it immediately offers the relief you want and you form a perspective or view around that assumption, which in most instances are non-factual, thus not knowledgeable.
                           Unlike assumptions, imagination, and more cogently, intuition, is based on TRUST. Trusting your imagination and intuition is surrendering to an inner knowing that is not necessarily based on logic or thinking. Imagination and intuition often comes to you in the form of a feeling, sensation or image, that is so effortless, they feel as though you are divinely guided to find knowledge ie what is right and true.

                              Imagination asks desired questions, it creates and grows with exercise. Anyone is enough of an artist to draw from their imagination as for it’s the basic health of every man. Concept may be lower form of imagination, and imagination is a poor substitute for experience. Few people have the imagination for reality and logic and reason can die off quickly. Your knowledge has limits but your imagination dose not. Reason respects differences, and imagination has a perceptible likeness of things. It’s an act not of reason but an intuition, Imagination is the eye of the soul and the voice of the daring. If there is anything Godlike about God it is that.

   Imagination is the closest thing to being godlike I know. Wrote a hub on fresh imagination, could not find a higher energy tool.
