Accolades to monitor progress?

When someone posts a hub like "How to be succesful on Hubpages" I look at their total page views accolade to see if they really are succesful. If that person has hundreds of hubs but only 1000 page views accolade, well....
If that hubber has an accolade for 100,000, he may have 900,000 page views and none of us have a way of knowing this. There is a long way from 100,000 to 1 million. There is a big difference in 10,000 and 100,000, and even an even bigger difference in 1 million and 10 million. I do not think any hubbers have reached 100,000 yet, but maybe someone has made it halfway.
I would really like to see accolades for 50,000, 500,000, 5,000,000, and yes, maybe even for 50,000,000.
    Is this possible?

      Hi Dr Mark,
The time someone reaches 50,000,000, he/she would have retired. Its pretty much long way to go. I don't think anyone would have reached that level. Possibility, it depends on the topic & traffic he/she will receive for the hub.

The highest one that I am aware of is Patty Inglish with over 10M.

Thomas Beyers (Crazyhorsesghost) has had more than 10 million views.  He has an accolade for it.  100,000 isn't that many.  I've had over 470,000.

You should be getting that 500,000 accolade any time now, right?

I agree Mark1961. I have a different consideration. I have deleted over 100 hubs. Those views do not appear at the 'Ever View' at the Account Page. My profile shows 11 today.  My accolade is 10k. At the account page my Ever Views today are not anywhere near that. Plus, my accolade for Published Hubs is 100 & Simultaneously Featured Hubs is 50. However, I do feel I earned those.

I know having done spreadsheets with inventory and vehicle history that there is a key entry. For instance the product item. When that is deleted 'all' the history is too. So, we only deleted inventory items at year end when we could create an annual report for all inventory to use with 'indirect' reports and not live reports from the mainframe. Does that occur with the Hub View Accolade too. The key element would be the Hub Title I would think?

So, is there a 'patch' to compensate when a hub is deleted or is there some kind of cumulative view with the hubber name as the key entry? I have no way to calculate all my views. I do not know if I am at 10,001 or 99,999.

Yes, compared to those with over 100k or 1M I may not be thought of as successful with HubPages. One must determine what success is first and that is individualistic. Possibly I am less successful with Google.

We have no plans to add any accolades at this time, but you can see the full current list of accolades here.

That is why I am suggesting this. Please note the comment by Solaras--bestowing accolades more often might help hubbers feel less discouraged too, and there is not cost to HP.

I'd like for us to see accolades at 250K, 500K, 750K and at each million view mark.  The most active thread the last few days was about how discouraged many Hubbers feel.  Adding these accolades might help fuel people to write more hubs.

I was looking forward to reaching the 500,000 view mark, but the stats froze up for several days, and once they got going again I had passed the goal, and I was very underwhelmed and somewhat discouraged.

Well, even without an accolade, I want to congratulate you!

I never think to look at my statistics...guess they don't mean much to me; neither do the accolade icons.  I just enjoy the writing and exchanges with you and the other folks who write or visit my hubs.  I did take note once though, when in the span of a week one hub (on the early autumn lady bug swarming phenomenon) generated over [earnings disclosure redacted]   Like veterinarians, I'm not in it for the money...and that's probably a real good thing in my case!

I enjoy reading other hubs and also enjoy my (earnings disclosure redacted) Bob, since it does pay my internet and feed bills every month. I check my stats almost every time I log in since I want to see if my hubs are reaching people--unfortunately many of my more popular hubs are about selecting a dog or dog names; what does that tell you about me as a vet?
Maybe I need to write more about the health issues of lady bugs?

I'd like to know more about lady bugs.  They are one of the few insects that does not creep me out.  Especially how to add them to your vegetable garden; who they eat, and how to keep them happy and healthy.  Anyone game to write that hub?

The 100,000 is quite within reach. I've been here less than a year and made it to the 100,000 accolade. I wasn't starting from scratch though, as my large collection of articles transferred over from Squidoo. The visitor count is just for the time here on Hubpages.
