Hi guys,
I would appreciate it if I could have some advice about one of my newest articles.
I have just recently received an Email from HubPages stating that my article could be a featured Hub yet it is 'spammy'
I was wondering on your opinions what 'too many' adverts or links is and how I could improve my article to be less 'spammy' as they put it.
All content and adverts are aimed at helping people to be directed in the right way towards items that they may need or think about purchasing for the topic and the article is full of good content yet I don't want to strip the entire article from links, else some people may feel like they are lacking in content and where to go after reading said article.
Thanks in Advance
Liam
It would help if you linked to the hub in question.
Oops, sorry about that. Thought I did

Ask yourself if the hub works as an article all on its own without the links and items for sale. If it doesn't, rewrite it and expand it until it does. That's not to say you can't have links, just that the content must be substantial enough to stand on its own.
Any more than two links to a single domain is too many according to HubPages rules. So pare down your links to other domains to two or fewer for each separate domain.
Make sure your links support rather than replace your text.
Make sure the Amazon items you have for sale are really, really necessary to completing the project or task and have at least a hundred words of explanation for why they are each needed in the Amazon description for each item. The rules say one item per one hundred words of directly related text but, in practice, it looks like HP actually prefers much fewer items for sale per page.
Directly related text means words about the exact item and why it is needed, not just words about the general topic.
I would suggest that some of your product choices seem a bit off and not really like practival advice. For example: you recommend a climbing caribiner for $10 where a general purpose caribiner for $3 would be more than up to the task. For a general purpose backpack for people to carry their lunch box you go for a top of the line hiking option where a simple duffel would be fine. Neither strikes me as products you actually have experience using for this purpose--which is generally what Hubpages is going for these days.
I have experience using both the backpack as i use it for my daily commute and usually carbiner that is alway attached to me daily. Sadly the ebay links are dreadful and you can't choose which product you specifically want!
This is why im thinking of sacking ebay links off and going purely with amazon as you can select specific products and not have to go with what they give you
I often have the same issue, but I think it is due to my English not being that good, What @psycheskinner stated about the products I find it great, for me I try to find products that are reasonable in price, and they have already good reviews on Amazon, for example being rated 4 to 5 stars.
good luck buddy.

Hi,I have other accounts here (this is my forum account). So far in the two days of Amazon earnings reports in the new HubPages-linked Amazon products, I only see products listed that I directly linked to. Usually I earn commission from products that were bought using my affiliate links...

I understand the editing process, quality control and for articles not to appear "spammy" My article was about slat chlorine generators and a sentence in there about testing salinity levels in the water. "This can be done by using a salt test meter or salt test strips" I...

I am yet to successfully publish any articles with amazon products. I am trying to be clear on the requirements for these articles. I thought articles should be limited to 1-2 products, however I have seen list based articles with multiple products (ideas for gifts) on niche site, Holidappy. Would...

Hi Everyone,I'm new to HubPages and I have a featured article that is over 1600 words. I joined the external Amazon Affiliate program, and then I featured three books written by other people, all of which directly related to the subject I was writing about. Within a few hours, all three Amazon...

Just curious, but does anyone have experience with this? How'd you do it? Did you tell Google the article moved somehow or do anything else fancy? Or did you just copy, paste, delete from HubPages, and wait for Google to catch up?Im guessing there might be some duplicate content penalties from...

I finally made it over here. I have numerous hubs in violation as they were previously product lenses at Squidoo. How is everyone else handling it? Anyone know how many Amazon products we can have on a single Hub?
