The only thing you can do is write. Write rich and interesting articles about stuff which attract readers. Use your imagination, stirred with your emotions and personality and you should be fine. Do not ever let anyone to get you down. Just write about things which you comfortable with. First few weeks, months will be difficult. When you starting from a scratch it takes some great time to get noticed. I am sure many people on hubpages would be happy to help and advice you. Please just do not expect to earn money fast. The earning is the top of the cake after some work done. So just focus on writing and stay true to yourself.

    Maira,

As a resident of Pakistan, you may have an extremely hard time earning anything because of the problems involved in getting a valid PayPal account in that location.  PayPal is the only way HubPages issues any payments.

I'm new too! Haven't really gotten too deep into it but I think the secret is to just write a bunch of stuff and have fun!

The process will lead to results if you're really about it!

    Hello,
Welcome, I'm new as well. I just posted my first hub.
Basically you have to write and get involved in the earning programs. Once you are consistent with your hubs there are ways to earn money with ads being posted to your hub and by the traffic you generate. That's how I understood it. I hope that helps.

Firstly you will have to write a lot of high quality Hubs after which you can apply for Adsense through Hubpages. If it is approved then your chances of earning will definitely increase.Good Luck.

The very first step is to write a high quality hub.
Then you have many ways to earn with hub pages. They are Hub pages ad program, ebay program, amazon program, google adsense. you can find all these options in settings page. https://hubpages.com/my/earnings/affiliate/
You have to apply for all these programs individually. Once they confirm your account, ads will be shown when others read your hub. If they click on the ads, you will get paid.

    Hi Maria
One very important point. You will have to wait for at least six months before you can start earning. Why?Read this and you will get a better idea. I have been with hubpages for two months now and need to wait for a minimum of four more months t be able to get an adsense account so that I can start earning.
    https://support.google.com/adsense/answer/9724?hl=en
So here are the things you can actually do
Write hubs and get them featured
Follow people and get them to follow your articles
comment on the articles of people you are following
get as many comments possible for your hubs
And last but not the least, wait for six months

I've given up - I can't get Adsense to accept me - hope you are successful.

Hi Lori, your post caught my eye and I decided to take a look at one of your hubs. I just randomly picked the one about knitting in the round. It's a wonderful article--very well-written. I did notice that your Source citations are not good (for lack of a better word). I looked at the web pages for the first three pictures. One said the page is not found. The next looked like a page for shoes. The third, which was a picture of a bunch of needles, opened up in a knitting forum, not the picture of the needles. This may be what's keeping you from getting approved. Just a thought. And you would want to make sure those reference correctly anyway. Good luck!

I appreciate your telling me, not sure what happened - I believe they all worked correctly initially, I'll look into it.  If I remember correctly Adsense says I didn't have enough content, or they didn't like my web page -- I'm not good at the computer stuff.

Thanks again, I'll be sure to correct those links.

        Lori

Me again - I just went to your coloring hub, which I love, and I noticed you've got ads on your page. So it looks like you've been approved already! Have you signed up for the Amazon program yet? I see you haven't added any Amazon capsules.

HubPages will show its own ads on your Hubs, even if you do not have an Adsense account.

Given that you have only written nine Hubs in 15 months, Google won't accept you because you aren't drawing any traffic, aka you do not have enough content.

Also, putting pages about face makeup under acrylic painting isn't going to help your Hubs.

@thymebecreative - you have only 9 Featured Hubs and that means you don't have enough content to satisfy Adsense.  You need 15 to 20 Hubs, then you will probably be accepted.

Hey Maria! I had similar questions a while back and I was pretty well received with some nice answers, some of them may be useful to you: http://hubpages.com/forum/topic/131998

From what I understand, you want to have about 15 features hubs before you attempt to get a google adsense account, and there are some additional requisites depending on where you live (hubbers from india need to wait untill their account is at least 6 months old, I think).

I see that you are from Pakistan, in that case I have some bad news for you. As far as earnings are concerned I don't think you will be able to as Paypal is not available for the country you are currently residing in. But maybe you use this platform as a way to improve your writing skills and meet people with a similar passion in writing as you. Hubpages is an excellent way to improve you writing skills and meet with like minded people. Enjoy!
