    Hi Hubbers,

I'd like some help with passing the Quality Assessment Process. Will you please give feedback on my Hub SAILING ON THE EDGE: Chapter 3. What can I do to improve? Thanks!

      Hi James,

I have no idea what standards HubPages uses for fiction. But I suspect the problem is the Kindle Amazon ad. I suspect HubPages doesn't consider it directly relevant to the hub.

Interesting, but actually, tablets, laptops and even cell phones are VERY important navigation tools for sailors theses days, which relates directly to my memoir (you may be right though).... Thanks

OK.  I was on there for about thirty seconds as Im no sailor.  The main thing hit me long before this and my first impression may be all you need.  So, here goes.  Hope it helps.

Well, the pictures are beautiful, as far as I looked at least, creating an image of absolute paradise then you read a few lines and it's all potty mouthed (swearing) and complaints.

Its possible that you need to read Chapters 1 and 2 to understand the lead-up to Chapter 3...

what Im saying is you may be wrong footing readers showing paradise, yet talking about the rough times.

"Potty mouth" I don't see it.  Shit happens is not a slew of profanities. Even watching Conan on TV I have heard shit used.  Don't be such a prude. It isn't gratuitous use of profanity.  I think the story is great and the photos beautiful.
James google "hubpages complaints" it may give you some insight.  It is the same people over and over that get picked for Hub of the Day. It's a high school click and great stories get overlooked while simplistic ones like how Gummy Bears are made or how to do a Zen garden are promoted and given accolades beyond comprehension.

Thanks Askme.... I appreciate your input (and tend to agree with your assessment).... one of the interesting aspects of HubPages is that "they" want to control the ads I place on my Hub, but I have no control over the ads "they" place..... Why are there ads for a dating service (?) on my Hub that have nothing to do with my topic?
