    Hi,
I wrote this, my first hub, and was rather surprised that it was featured. However, it now seems to be languishing in a stasis of indifference.
So I'm wondering, is this the sort of thing that you Hubbers are interested in, basically an exposure of my music video. Or should I try to be more literary or technical or topical, such as describe the recording of the song, or the poetical motivations, or the deeper allusions, or suchlike.
    What you y'all think???
    Here's a link to
    My Hub
Thanks for your time and attention,
    Jathon,,,,,

Generally the only times hubs aren't featured is if they are breaking some really strong rules... That said I have absolutely no idea why your hub was features. It's too short. It's promotional. And I read the first three sentences and switched off. That's not how people talk...

Yes, most of our hubs to languish in indifference. It's a sort of hit and miss affair One writes 20 or 30, and then one gets maybe 300 views a month. If we're really lucky, every now and then we write something that takes off and we get a couple of hundred or thousand views a day. Not often. Very rare, in fact.

Bottom line here? It's completely the wrong type of thing for hubpages. That's not what hp is about. It's about content writing about topics that people on Google are searching for.

Thanks for that clear reply TessSchlesinger. It's exactly what I need to know.

      Hi, Jathon

I quite enjoyed your debut Hub. So music is your first love, not writing. So what? There is quite a music section here on HP. I am mostly a writer of nano/flash fiction (under 100 words).
May I suggest that you rework your Hub and put it back up? There are people who will read it and find it interesting.
We can't all draw huge figures traffic wise, but not everyone on HP is here for that reason. Some of us are here to share our talent.
Hope to read - and hear - more!

Thanks for your approbation and encouragement Bronwyn. I will think about ways to make my Hubs more relevant, and edit them,,,

Sorry, as far as I am concerned your hub is just worthless wordiness. The mere fact you can alliterate does not add any value to your content. In fact, it turns me off so much that I would not click on your video even if someone paid me to do it.

    I enjoyed your work, Jathon.

Creative expression is the one element that separates HubPages from other websites. In that sense, yes your work is totally relevant to HubPages. Welcome to the league. Keep up your spirit! :-)

If you are writing just for yourself and your personal fans then your hub can pretty much be anything you want it to be....

However if you want people to actually find it and read it then that is another matter...

People find things mainly through two routes -

Searching on Google and the other search engines - you should ask yourself who would type "Welcome - My Arty Autobiographical Ballad,,," into the search box on Google if you are expecting any traffic... (probably nobody I would guess however..)

    or

Social Media - if you share on Facebook, twitter, etc do you think you would get any traffic? Would anyone click on the link? If they did - would they read it all? Would they be inspired to be a fan? Would they be waiting in anticipation for your next hub?
The other problem with social media is that it is short lived traffic - you share - someone follows your link - more often than not end of traffic.... Unless your hub is something so good that everyone shares it and it goes viral.......

Thanks for the excellent reply LeanMan. I remember reading somewhere of a tool that could establish if a title was Google friendly, giving the criteria etc needed to make a title popular but not too popular (because then it will be lost under a mass of other similar posts). Does anyone know of such tools, sites, or suchlike?
