Take down request being ignored

   Hi Everyone
   
   Several weeks ago I deleted a lot of my work from another site. I want to bring it to HP. Despite having removed dozens of articles, it appears that many are still online at the other place. I discovered this when the dreaded "duplicate content" alert appeared on an article I posted here at HP the other day.
   
   I have contacted the other site yet again, but they are not responding. How can I force the issue with them, and get rid of the "duplicate content" alert?

   Which other site was it?   Have you checked their terms and conditions - some sites do not allow you to delete articles even if you leave.  That's something you should always check before you even start writing on a site.
   
   Usually, if a site allows you to delete your articles, you can delete them manually yourself and that's what you're expected to do (that's what you would do if you left HubPages).

      It is bubblews. Yes, I do have the option to remove my work there. Every post has a delete option, just like Hubs. I had been manually deleting, but they were still appearing. I spoke to another member there, who thinks they may be having tech issues.
      I have sent an email directly to the mods to find out.

         Be aware that every time you remove an article from Bubblews you are expected to return the money you made from it.  You might be wiser to just leave the articles there, re title and reword them and post them as new hubs here.

            If that is true, it sure could cause major problems for many. Can you document that information, TT2?
            
            I have removed articles from Bubblews and have never been asked to return any money made on an article I removed.

   I have just received an email from them asking for my username so they can close my account. When I went to log in to verify it (I forgot about spaces in usernames here at HP!) I discovered they had deleted my account "due to spam."
   
   Spam?!?! To quote the greatest comic team ever put on this planet, "I don't like spam!" Nor do I write it, post it, or tolerate it!
   
   I have posted eight Hubs here in a fortnight, at least seven of which are featured.
   
   As far as I am concerned, they have done me a favour. Now I can bring my works here to a place that appreciates quality writing from quality writers.
   
   So what if I have lost $12.83US. I write for the writing, not the money

      When you say "they were still there", do you mean they were on the site, or in Google reuslts?
      
      It can take a few weeks for Google to remove them from results and that's what Hubpages checks for duplicate content.

         All of the articles I had deleted were still on the site itself. Now that they have been taken down I will wait a while before going through everything, rechecking everything and bringing them to HP.

      I have had a similar issue with Infobarrel. I can't find a way to delete articles I wrote there, but also can't find anyplace in the TOS that says they have a right to keep my work.
