    I haven't gotten Adsense yet because of the server issues, but how long until you started making money on Hubpages?

      Anywhere from a few months to a couple years, depending on how savvy you are with SEO, generating organic traffic.

        Looks like I misread the question. You were asking us specifically, I thought you were asking a general question.

        It took me about 2 years to first reach payout--but that was with a bunch of articles I wrote before I knew much about SEO. After that, I started writing on an account where I put articles with which I'd used researched keyphrases , and reached payout within a few months--hence, what I meant by anywhere between a few months to 2 years.

      With humor? the moment after affiliate monetization takes effect and a hub is read. Poof . . . there is revenue sharing. Amazing!

      Adding to the survey is I hit my first payout on the 17th month. I have not received a second yet, but I am knocking on that door today three and some years later. Words of Wisdom are from the infamous Paul 'Bear' Bryant with his long success with the University of Alabama college football;

      I have been reading most of your hubs but am not sure if you are getting any search engine traffic yet. As long as you keep up with the number of hubs that you have been publishing, and the titles are good and the information is important enough for others to link to, you should be able to get your first payout in about 3 to 4 months.
      (It takes longer for most people, but in the time that I have been here on HP I have noticed that almost no one writes here consistently/publishes daily. With your background and experience, it should not be a problem to come up with plenty of good material.)
      You will need to keep up with your writing without any payment for that period of time, however.

    It took me a year to make my first payout, and that was in the days when HubPages got far more traffic than it does now.

    It took 9 months to get my first payout. That was about 2-1/2 years ago.

    I started in the January and by December I was averaging about $140/month I think. So payout was every couple of months by then (although they keep changing around payout limits on everything).
