It seems no matter what I do I cannot increase my Profile number. What else can I try?

Your Hubber score is 86.  I wouldn't worry about it.

As long as it is over 85, I would focus my attention on getting readers to my hubs - make them the best they can be for the reader, make sure there are proper keywords in them, etc., and in writing more hubs with these qualities.

Thanks Millionaire! I'll work on those suggestions.

If you find out let me know.  Apparently over a 100 featured hub still just you 9 points more than zero hubs and some light spamming.

You have been here four years and have only nine hubs. For just nine hubs a score of 85 is pretty good - write more hubs and don't be so concerned about trying to raise your hubber score, for it will take care of itself as you continue to write. And you are a good writer who provides great information and related photos.

This is only a suggestion: Write more hubs and try to narrow it down on the topics till you grow a reputation of a knowledgeable writer on one or two topics, then expand out to new topics one at a time with at least two (more is better) related hubs on the topic. Out of your nine hubs you have only two with the same topic (American History) and they are good. Pick one of your other topics that you have a hub on (home improvement) and write more hubs on that topic.

Looking at "What Died With The Angel Of The Alamo?" hub I have another suggestion:

Your keyword focus should be within the first sentence of the article. That is standard practice and answers your title. Keyword focus is 'Angel Of The Alamo'

"Who was the “The Angel of the Alamo”?" capsule should be at the beginning, for it reflects your title. Then follow with Lorenzo de Zavala capsule then the "Remember the Alamo?" capsule.

Your photos are really good and enhance the article, but you need to remember that all images must have proper attribution noted in the caption or at least at the end of your hub.

Edit: All images must be in Public Domain or Creative Commons and licensed for commercial use (HubPages is considered commercial, for we do earn money on our hubs).

I too ponder the mystery of a Hubber Score. We all know it is determined by a fancy algorithm. At the Learning Center they have a section in a Hub found at this link explaining their position. It is preceded how they determine a Hub Score.

Why? Even if you have a hubber score of 100, you will not get more traffic. If you have a hubber score of 50 you will not have less traffic.
Are you here to try and impress other hubbers or are you here to write hubs and have them read?

I really do not understand why you do not have more than an 85 when all of the spammers and even those that never write score almost that high. The system does not make any sense.

I understand that, though the good news is that links still can provide some traffic to your sites. At least, I've found this to be the case, and the traffic is good in terms of time on site and bounce rate.

Thanks Nate. I'm trying more links and other ideas.

Hi, Joey. I was responding to psycheskinner who said they wanted dofollow links. As far as your author score goes, links won't really help as far as I know. I was just saying that if you put links on your Hubs that go to your own site (if you have one), it can give your site a bit of traffic. Author score is a bit of a mystery, though it is said that scores on each individual Hub influences it, so my thinking is that producing high-quality engaging Hubs is the best way to boost your overall Author Score. Which just means keep writing.

Don't understand Dr. Mark. You say there is no difference between a 50 and a 100...you may know more than me but I don't agree with you, somehow.

DrMark1961posted 8 years agoin reply to this

Sure, there is a difference. It just does not mean anything.
(I always had a 100 hubber score when HP counted traffic. Now that they no longer consider traffic important, my score has gone down. My traffic has not changed, however.)

My score doesn't seem to be going up either. It used to be around 95 some time earlier this year. All I've done since then is get an editors choice and post more on the forums lol.

Brandon...are you saying your score did not change even after an editor's choice and posting more in forums?

As do some of the other peoples scores here...... But hell - I still get traffic and I still get paid....

My score has dropped from high 90s and just seems to go down and down and down...
