The algorithm for hub scores sucks!

   Would anyone care to speculate as to why a hub that is getting a high volume of traffic for 1 day and 7 days intervals keeps receiving a lower and lower hub score? This is one of the very few things (actually the only thing) that can really be frustrating about HP. I would have hoped by now after all the complaints that staff would have gotten rid of this idiotic system as well as the author score number which does probably more harm than any foreseeable good.

      I have no idea. I think the hubber score may be related to traffic, but not sure. i also have hubs that I suspect the hubscore has to do with the value of the keyword in the title.

         Hubber score is no longer related to traffic.This change was made about a year ago.

      I'm still a bit new to HP and I tried time and again to figure out the scoring but it seems arbitrary to say the least. As Tess Mentioned, there is some sort of correlation to traffic. But I cant discern the other factors that considered for the calculation for the Hub or Hubber's scores.

         There is no correlation to traffic. If you cannot discern the other factors that are considered, do not worry about it.

      And this matters to you why? You have enough hubs that you should not even be paying attention to this number, that has absolutely no bearing on your earnings from HP, your ability to write what you want, or even on your ability to enjoy life outside of HP.
      Just ignore it and go on with your life.

      Just took a look at your hubs. Is there any reason you don't divide your content into different boxes? Each of those boxes (I suspect) uses the title as a keyword, thereby bringing more traffic to your hub. But more than that, the way the hub is scored might have some relationship to that. Just a wild guess.

   My point is that my views have increased by about 47% since the subdomains went away. Some  of my hubs are getting 1 day and 7 day traffic like never before and their hub scores keeps going down as well as my profile score. I really do not care one way or another but it just seems to make no sense at all. Wish they would just get rid of them!

      Alas, my traffic is still doomed. If things don't improve by the end of January, then it looks like it's all over for paradigmsearch.

      The same has been happening to me...traffic to my hubs has increased substantially but scores don't reflect it at all, or does earnings.
