Got any thoughts about and how to make it better?
Post them here.
My main rant is none of my hubs have ever shown up there.
They used to have hubber interviews remember that? I always kind of liked that feature, you could get to know people a bit more than just what is on their profile bio.
It might be cool to add a resource outside of HP once in awhile too, maybe resources to improve writing or writing related games, memes, whatever - just something to jazz it up a bit. In its current format I'm not usually all that excited about it. I read it mostly just to see what is being changed around here next and why.
Excellent post. I hope others follow. I am reasonably hopeful that information here will be useful to HP. This thread is my spontaneous good deed for the day.
I liked the interviews too. When they interviewed people, Hubbers complained that the staff was picking favorites. Maybe if they announced how they chose who to interview, it would help.
I think that they should stick with hubs, so that they promote the articles from within, instead of showing articles elsewhere on the net. I do think it is a good place for (more than one) recommended hubs, since the feed is no longer front and center and the our home page shows the same hubs over and over again.
Also some other tips and tricks for getting around the site, how to write hubs that will be featured, and how to get more traffic/money, etc. would be helpful.
Actually, the way we did the interviews was that that whichever Hubber gave the previous interview got to decide on, as well as actually interview the next Hubber.
Unfortunately, many Hubbers either did not wish to be interviewed or did not wish to give an interview after, so it ended up being a lot more work for HP Staff soliciting multiple Hubbers per week, waiting on interviews to be completed, etc. It was a good feature, but just not a sustainable one without more Hubber interest.
Oh that's right. How soon I forget. That methodology did keep the interviews within a certain clique until they ran out of members though.
Hmm, maybe if we created a forum posts asking for volunteers, we may have more success. These people would have to be willing to serve as interviewers as well as interviewees, and staff can match them up. Each interview can have a link to the forum post so others who are interested can sign up as well. It would be a good chance to build team spirit, let us know about Hubbers we don't know and share tips.
All is well.
The good news... Send me a list of questions.
The bad news... It will take me forever to respond, philosophical and all that.
I woke up this morning to discover that one of my hubs has been featured today. How nice it is to receive this recognition at the end of three years hard work here.
My thanks go to HubPages and to you for your spontaneous good deed which give me the opportunity to say a very big thank you to staff.
Display photos of hubbers, both those featured or even have a "Hubber of The Week" segment. I would love that.

I have encountered a very poorly written hub, the spelling and grammar was bad and the sentences were incomprehensible. The hub has less than 300 words in total including the title (268 words exactly) and has more than 15 none-English words. I had to check the hubber profile; the hubber has 12...

I read in today's blog about the Automated Grammar and Spelling Checker coming in September.I like the idea of correcting errors in comments. Many times I had to delete comments that were written with terrible misspellings and very bad grammar so as not to lose search engine ranking, But I'm...

A new accolade was recently introduced regarding the number of featuring of hubs. It is a wonderful concept and everyone appreciated. Now I would like request the HP people for introducing a new kind of Accolade. If more than 60% of the hubs of a hubber is Featured, he can...

Just had a big drop on my profile score. And all my hubs were featured along with a steady 10 Editors Choice. I say 'were' because 3 were just unfeatured and I don't know what to do about that. My views are over 945,000. Boo-hoo. Hubpages doesn't love me anymore!

If I may be so bold as to make a request of HubPages, I would like you to please re-examine at this time your decision to ban Jerrico Usher from the Hub Forums. He has proven himself to be quite mindful of the mistake he made before and seems to me to be waaay to smart to make the same mistake...

I just started hubbing and I was wondering if those who had been here a while could let me know what kind of results they have had with the referral program? Has anyone tried running advertisements with their hubpage url anywhere? What kind of results did that get? Thanks!
