I have a suggesting regarding a picture capsule - how about adding a few editing options in there?

Whenever I want to put a pic into the hub, I have to run it through a photo editing software, even if it's a small change I'm looking for. If I'm using a lot of pics, that's very time-consuming.

Editing options can be simple: like crop, brightness and color saturation - that's usually all you need to make your pictures pop. We can edit text, why not edit pictures, too?

It's a good suggestion. I support it. Most of us experience these problems in editing our images. It would be better if Hubpages consider this suggestion and help us in making our picture capsules most appealing.

While it would certainly be more convenient, we simply don't have the extra engineering resources for something like this when there are already free photo editing options available many places online.

Ok, I understand. Maybe it'll be something you might consider in the future. Thanks for replying!

If at some point we have more resources, we'd love to do more to make the experience more convenient for writers. Thanks. smile

Thanks for the response. What options available are better and safe? I would like to know. I used to use photobucket. But it has become very risky now to log into it. Thanks.

I use PicMonkey myself. It's very user-friendly and free. I think some Hubbers also use Pixlr. Might be worth starting a new thread for suggestions to see what experienced Hubbers like to use.

The annoying problem I've had a few times, is having a photo show up rotated sideways, when it was NOT shot in that orientation.

OR, alternately, it WAS shot that way, but rotated in Photoshop, and then, when uploaded, reverts to the original, without noticing my edit.

In both cases, I've struggled to fix, and ultimately just deleted and not used that photo.

(and don't ask me to identify the articles on which that happened--it was too far back, and I don't remember)
