   I watched as the sherbet colored clouds slow
   drift across the sky and the memories  of our embrace
   and realized that you were really gone this time
   and gone are your hands your arms your face

      Love put you in a place within my heart of hearts.
      Within I reach my hand and hold you in my palm.
      Our souls ever entwined spiritually we speak,
      communicating goodness, fullness, and peace.

   Its winter and wet and yet I think of spring.
   A tune as light as a butterfly's wing floats within.
   It flows through me and why contain it?
   For it is yours and mine and all who hear it.

   Or who was the most invested and who the least
   is  this all but to  be dissolved

   A puzzle came together slow;
   The last piece pushed into place
   Revealed an image so beautiful,
   It laid all doubts to rest.

   And I knew at once all  pieces  of you as a  puzzle
   become a mystery  and the mystery a song
   yet the song held a melody of long ago
   like one that you sang as I sang along

   With the roars of rushing waters...
   Loud sounds of changing tides...
   Into a distinctive atmosphere...singing.
   Mysteries untold we are holding.

   Gone are the winds and the crashing of waves ...
   Gone are the shadows of eerie moon rays.
   Back are the seagulls flying over the shore,
   Above the waves as they quietly roll.

    Only when the tide stops running  an ebbing
    begins and her heart  slowly calms
    But I know well the nervous soul of this woman
    and have no unsettling  qualms
    
    And so her heart stops and begins  again
    her mind though never rests
    If only I could take the woman's hand
    give her peace  and all my best

    If only I could hug her
    Until she takes a breath ...
    I could help relieve her 
    Of all that's causing stress!
    
    But, like a frog she'll jump up
    With restless words for me ...
    Ignoring those I utter
    In peace and harmony.
    
    Someday in the winter,
    When the winds howl cold …
    She'll wish that she had reached out
    To grasp my hand to hold.

    But suddenly she shuddered,
    Laid her head on my shoulder ...
    And gazed into my eyes
    For a kiss.
    
    Then the sun slipped away,
    And the sherbet sky turned gray ...
    As we melted into
    Our bliss.
    
    … well, until one of their their cell phones rang.

    I have often though about how poets can  connect like this ,  I've looked for sights where people can write poetry to each other for instance , nothing .....anyway  this WAS fun !
