    Hello fellow hubbers,

I just wanted to say hello and ask how everybody has been doing? I'm really enjoying the new updates to HP and happy to see the many important and well needed improvements with this website. How does everybody feel about the new sites getting put up? Have any of your hubs been place on one of the site launched? And if so, what are your initial thoughts so far?

I haven't had any of my articles go to the new sites. However, I think creating niche sites is a great idea and predict it will improve traffic dramatically. There is plenty of information that niche/authority sites are successful and will place well in the search engine and get traffic. I look forward to seeing my articles moved to a new niche site in the future. This is truly a smart move on the part of HP as far as I'm concerned.

Great insight! I do agree, it's going to change things for the good. I'm looking forward hearing about the results. Thank you

I have had 2 of my articles put on the new Pet site. I can't say if it is better or worse yet as it is still early. One thing I do notice is on my Account listing of Hubs, they used to be in a Group called Pet Care...Now that they are moved to the new Pet site, those 2 have been removed from the Pet Care group I had made and are now listed as Orphans. The new Pet site only shows those 2 hubs as done by me, no others listed at all, unlike the old hub style of showing a few choices of work regardless of category. So I don't see it helping other traffic to see any of my other work.

How do you know if your hub is on a niche site?

The team sends you an email telling you your hub has been placed on one of the niche sites.

Alternatively, you will find an additional drop-down menu on your stats page -  "select a site" - if you've had hubs moved to one (or both) of the new sites.

I Had one hub selected for the new "Pet Helpful" site. I only published it two days ago and got the email yesterday that it had been selected. I am hopeful it will all go well and traffic will increase.

The real test for the niche sites will be how well new pages do. It would be great if you told us how your page  is doing from time to time.

Fantastic @jodah! Please come back and share your thoughts about having your hub placed on Pet Helpful. I hope you notice a valuable difference. Thanks for sharing!

I have had several articles chosen for PetHelpful.  I really think it is too early to tell how they will do there.  I am not even sure Google has figured out what's going on.  Right now, my Google traffic is down by about 30 percent BUT someone found one of my articles on PetHelpful (perhaps because of PetHelpful?), and it is getting lots of FB traffic.  All in all, my traffic is up about 75 percent because of this..

I think it will be a test of time to know if the niche sites are going to work.  It is way too early to tell.

Fantastic insight as well! That sounds very promising even if it is a small amount at this point. And yes it's like anything else it takes time to settle in and get established. Especially with g**gle! <---that's a bad word in my book! And with millions of others. Lol

I think it will be a long process to move all those hubs. We have to give it time.

    Been mulling things over...

On the one hand, PetHelpful is just another one of the many, many, many pet websites.

On the other hand, with over a thousand high quality pages, it's already got to be one of the best pet websites out there.

If PetHelpful is not successful, it pretty much proves the niche topic idea is now as dead as everything else for the entrepreneurs.

@paradigmsearch I'm hopeful because, there is always room for one more. I think having this bulky site spread out across the web is a good thing. It seems that the transition is going smoothly. I'm sure if things look great with the sites that have already been launched. The process will speed up!

I think the days of a single individual starting a new, successful niche site are now long gone.

Just that everything is already saturated and groups will obliterate individuals every time anyway.

So what happens to the hubs that are not moved to the new niches? Do they die a slow, painful death? hmm

Actually, it's possible some completely unexpected things might occur. For the time being, I'm keeping my specific speculations in reserve. big_smile

This will become the stub, or the tree trunk. As the tree branches out we all need to determine how to keep it growing. As long as we keep watering around the base things will turn out to be fine.

For some reason Friday is always my worst day; the weekends are my best days.  I am guessing 12-14 of my hubs have been moved to Pethelpful.  Traffic is up today 30% over a typical Friday, so I am optimistic, given that the new site has not been fully indexed yet.

Earnings are wonky - something needs to be sorted out there for me to know how this is hitting the purse. Pageviews are showing for only one of the sites- I am not sure which.

Thank you much for sharing that input. I'm hoping the rough waters die down quickly, setting us all on smoother sailings. Hope that purse doesn't get hit hard!

I'm optimistic!  It's way too early to tell how this will all turn out.  I think HubPages made the right move though.  I eagerly watch my work on the new site.
