   More than 20,000 sign petition to allow guns at Republican National Convention

   Washington (CNN)A petition to allow firearms inside the Republican National Convention in Cleveland has collected more than 22,000 signatures as of Saturday afternoon.
   "Though Ohio is an open carry state, which allows for the open carry of guns, the hosting venue — the Quicken Loans Arena — strictly forbids the carry of firearms on their premises," the petition says.
   Ok will there be an old fashioned shoot out between Trumps followers and everyone else? This is nuts

      TS if the arena forbids guns. Guns are prohibited in Casinos as well. There's a reason for this.

      Maybe the GOP might have decided to check the venue before making its plans. It is pretty dumb, why should the rules change just because they decide to grace Cleveland with their presence?
      
      So, tell the boys, gotta check in your shooting irons before gaining admission.
      
      Open carry does not mean you can go into any and every establishment armed, shear lunacy.......

         This was a satire.      It garnered something like 50,000 signatures
         A Democrat, James P. Ryan, was the brains behind the petition.
         Ryan is a Hillary supporter. He doesn't work for FOX News. 
         What can we expect on April Fools Day?

            He has said repeatedly why he did it -- to see if the GOP supports guns at their own convention as much as they support guns in schools.
            
            I'd say that's a fair question to ask.

      This is a common refrain of the anti-gun control crowd.  Hey, as a Trump lover, you have previously expressed concern that he will be assassinated.  I say, wouldn't it be safer to allow Trump supporters to show up to his rallies armed to the teeth?  I mean, "mass shootings only  happen in gun-free zones," so it's the safest way to protect your candidate and his loving supporters from those scary Bernie supporters who show up to protest.

   That's hilarious! Well, if a political party's platform includes gun rights and support for open carry laws, then its convention should be held in a jurisdiction and venue that permit open carry, and convention participants should be allowed to bring their guns. It's the consistent thing to do. They can't have it both ways.

      There would be less republicans voting if a shooting spree did erupt. But it won't because the secret service said "NO GUNS ALLOWED!" today. End of story.

         The NRA-backed GOP was rescued from the demands of their ammosexual base by the Secret Service.  I'm sure they are breathing a sigh of relief that they won't have to deal with gun-totin' patriots at the convention.
