How do I get people to view my hubs and comment on them?
1) The best tool for promoting your hubs would be social media. Now, most of that would be non-hubbers. Twitter is very powerful. I just posted a new hub and my views tripled within 8 hours. You don't always get comments, but I'm happy that people are reading. Facebook is the same, but you have to position it the right way. Maybe start a second page dedicated to your writing, which I have done as well.
2) To get other hubbers to read your work takes time and effort. Find what interests you and read other hubs. Follow them and maybe they will follow back. I take the approach of following only hubbers who are good writers who take on great topics, regardless of whether they follow back. I take time to promote hubbers who I feel should be read. Do they always reciprocate? No. But that should not matter. Good writing is good writing. We need to promote it. In fact, there are hubbers on HP who would probably still have no readership if I had not promoted their work. Full disclosure, I don't do politics, recipes, or religion, so my views are limited.
3) Engage in the forums. Although I never intended to use them this way, you might meet others who are like-minded and may want to give you a follow. I go to the forums for fun, just to engage in debates. It can be fun ticking people off sometimes (gently...).
Most of all, be patient. Explore the site. Write what interests you or what you feel is important. An audience will follow. Good luck.
Thank you. This is very helpful.. maybe I should get on twitter just for posting my hubs. I really never understood twitter or the point of it.
The same way that a reader would share your story on Twitter. Once you have an account set up, you click on one of the links on the left hand side of your hub. I just looked at your CNA hub, and you have FB, Pinterest, etc. If you click on Twitter, a dialog box will come up. It might ask you to sign in or if you are already signed in, just hit the "Tweet" button. Good to go. Pretty much the same thing for all of the platforms. Another great platform is to set up a google site too. If you have any other questions, just let me know.
BTW, one writing tip I always give: create good titles. Think like a newspaper headline writer. Nothing kooky, but succinct, catchy, something like that. I"m not the greatest writer, but I'm pretty good w/titles. It's amazing how it helps, especially on social media.
Well if I have any more questions I will sure message you, or if I need help with a title in the future
One of my hubs took about 100,000 views before it got its first comment comments don't necessarily mean much.
Don't forget Pinterest. One of my hubs has 1,266,321 views from Pinterest only. Many of us get most of our views from Pinterest. Use interesting high quality pictures. Turn them into memes (a picture with a catching headline of text superimposed). Open a Pinterest account if you haven't already done so. Then pin all your hub pictures. A link to your pinned hub will automatically appear in your Pinterest entry and potentially attract many views.
B.t.w. views outside of hubpages are far more valuable than views from other hubbers as they are less likely to click on ads. I.o.w. followers and comments are nice for ego but won't pay the bills.

Do you use social media to bring traffic to your hubs? What are your favorites?

It is said that organic traffic (Google, Bing, Yahoo, etc) should be our goal for increasing and maintaining real traffic. I've read in the forums that we shouldn't become dependent upon getting a lot of HP traffic, nor discouraged if our hubs are not being read by the HP community. However, I've...

Hi guys, I'm hoping for some advice. Basically here's my issue: I enjoy writing informative articles that I believe will be useful to people. However, I can't stand promoting my hubs. The thought of spending my time scouring the Web looking for places to post it, opening tons of social media...

I'm little bit confused. I wrote 7 articles, all of which are long and good quality contet, well illustrated, featured. Nevertheless in sum of all views in one month I got less than 200. Also only three people started following me and I never receive any kind of comments. Everything would be great...

How is it that a hub on the 'common mistakes new hubbers make' can suddenly become not featured, in spite of the fact it has had 9 views in a day, 24 views in 7 days and 35 views in the last 30 days? I only replied to comments on it both 42 hours ago and 22 hours ago (from two different hubbers)....

Just wondering what sites Hubbers use to promote their articles? I have seen a lot of changes over the years with some sites no longer allowing links in forums or comments, and some article sharing sites just going away. I primarily use Facebook and Twitter these days to share my...
