    * this can be deemed a sudden twist in the road.
My top five, all-time, black and white classic horror films are:
(Rated from least favorite (5) to all-time favorite (1):
    5.) Bride of Dracula
    4.) The Blob
3.) Creature From The Black Lagoon
    2.) Dr Frankenstein
    1.) The Mummy

What a great question! I don't have five, as I'm not a big horror film fan, but I do love The Wolf Man (1941) with Lon Chaney, Bela Lugosi and Claude Rains. I really like your number four pick, too, The Blob.

      @ The Dirt Farmer,
Hey, I liked Lon Chaney in Wolf Man too. I just had a dilemma choosing between him and the mummy. Oh, and a young Steve McQueen and his girlfriend did a great job in The Blob and do you remember Officer Jim in this film? He was a class act.

Yes, Officer Jim. And Miss Crump! Okay, now I have to watch The Blob again.

@ The Dirt Farmer, good for you. We all need to keep the  popularity or rather, the "newly-discovered" popularity of black and white classic horror films alive and hopefully expanding.

Great Question. Creature from the Black Lagoon is definitely a favorite. Also The Birds, The Fly, The Thing and Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde.

      suziecat7,
The Fly with Vincent Price is one of the greatest "real" horror films of all-time. Have you ever watched any of his "Dr. Phybes" films? They are so suspenseful that you will actually be sitting on the edge of your seat.

@ susiecat7, although it is not your accepted classic horror film, "The 40-Foot Woman" breaks the mold of a "B" movie for it does have drama, love, adultery (but not porno) and plenty of suspense.

@ susiecat7, one more. Those movies that Goober Pyle often quoted on the Andy Griffith Show such as: "The Gator That Ate Minnesota," I would really, really like to see ONE of these.
