Can someone please explain why this article was unfeatured

   I had one of my better articles unfeatured for quality, first it was for traffic and now for quality.
   
   I would appreciate if you would please read this article and tell me what is wrong with it.

      Hi Sam,
      The hub comes across more as an advertisement for EMF-pollution detectors/products than an informational hub.  I know HP frowns on that.  The hub is informative, but ventures into more commercial aspects (whether or not it was intended).

         I am not sure how it can be more as an advertisement type article considering there are only two Amazon ads. Each ad will help the reader find out if their home is at risk for EMF pollution.

         I would make a few changes and it should be featured. 1. Make the first image smaller, it should be the main image associated with your topic. 2. I would remove one of the Amazon links, HP only allow one per hub otherwise it thinks it is over promotional. You can use in-line links on the text module to accomplish the same purpose. 3. Have at least 3 high quality images in the body of your hub related to your subject matter. This will guarentee the hub to be "Featured". Good luck.

            I have 3 imagines in the article that are related to the subject. I was not aware that HP now only allows 1 Amazon ad.
            
            The main picture, all of my articles have a large picture for the cover picture, and this is my highest rated article. And still un-featured following Marisa's recommendations.

               You need to read my hub on "how to create a hub and get featured". Just do a search for it. I can't add the link here for chance of being banned by HubPages for self promotion... Another one of HP rules.

      You could try removing the amazon capsules to see if that solves the problem.  It seems well written and informative to me.

   Very interesting article. From a QAP standpoint, there might be two issues. The first is the link to your blog. I found it helpful since it went into more detail about the lights, but HP might consider it self promotion.
   (Quick question--do the new LED lights have the same sort of behavior/effects?)
   The second issue might be with the second Amazon ad. The new HP guidelines state that Amazon ads should be for products that you have used and have experience with. I felt that way when reading about the first product but feel that you should delete that second ad. (If you want to discuss that product just include that ad as a text hyperlink.)

      Thank you DrMark. I took out the link to my blog article. Even though it provided further information, I can see where HP might think it self promoting.
      
      As for the second ad, I will try and leave it in, if that doesn't work I will write that I use those filters and it has helped by testing with the EMF meter.
      
      It is bothersome to me that this article is my highest rated article.
      
      With everything I have read, the LED bulbs do not cause the health problems that a CFL bulb does, since they do not pulsate like a compact fluorescent bulb does. LED bulbs do have their own health problems if they are broken because they contain lead and nickle plus other metals.

         FYI:  removing a link does not mean that you need to remove the information.  You can still mention the link information so that people can look it up if they choose to do so, just don't link it!

   I think the problem is that the moderator isn't seeing your reference to the first ad, and the second ad has no reference to it.
   
   The best way to get your Amazon ads approved is to make the ad full width, and include the related text in the description (that means you need to use the specific product not the keyword search).
   
   So I'd leave both ads in, but put your recommendation in the description on both.

      One thing to remember for future reference, HP will automatically unfeature a hub after approx. 6 months without edit and with low traffic. The way to get around this is to make a small edit to your hub and it will be featured again after 24 hours. I typically just change a punctuation and save.

         Is there a source for this information? I have several hubs not edited since 2013 and 2014, very low traffic, and they are not unfeatured.
         I think that the time that you spend on this site should be devoted to updating the hubs with the most traffic, not those that are being unfeatured for low traffic anyway.

            The information I posted are not based on any published rules per se. Just from what I discovered by using the system. I've discovered the minimum criteria to get a hub featured and pass the automated quality process of HP. I've also tested the quality process using my own hubs as test cases and found out it is not a human editor making the decisions. The main thing driving the quality is obviously traffic. The more views a hub gets, the higher the rating and the higher the payout and the less chance of being un-featured. That's not to say the highest quality hubs gets the traffic.
            The hubscore is totally useless for the hubber. It really has no meaning and should be ignored.
            The most important is chosing the title for your hub. If the right title is made, it will help google ranking and you will get more traffic due to being the results of google search.
            The six month is based on my own experience. I've had several hub un-featured and it is due to low traffic but the common theme is that they were created or last edited approx. 6 months ago.

               Thank you. One thing I have noticed about the hubber score (not hub score) that may or may not be true. It seems to me that they are using that score to determine what hubs are placed on the front page of the niche sites.
