I'm about to do a massive overhaul on this and I thought I would ask for your input before I started rather than after I had done it!
The piece has had consistent (but not massive) traffic, and I'm sure it can be improved. Please give me everything you've got. )

Hi Tess:
Well, that was quite an article. I couldn't decide if it was a blog or an article, however, because it was so full of your personal views.
I did feel that it rambled quite a bit, and there were a few errors, such as repeating the word "simple" right after writing it.
If I were to write an article on this topic, I would take myself out of it, write in the third person and get some strong factual research to back up my statements.
It was hard for me to judge this one because my views are exactly the opposite of yours, and I felt that you generalized far too much.
In my mind the hub needs to be written in smaller capsules and shortened up considerably. Also, the ad you placed does not fit the hub at all.
Good luck with this one. You've got quite a bit of work ahead of you.
Are there supposed to be headings in the table at the top?
I don't know. Simeone who did a pro edit for me said that having a table helped get traffic. Not sure if that is true. If the table has to go, ,then di be it.
You might want to read the forum thread on Google snippets, that's why they are recommending the table at the top. I think the important thing is that the table has to summarise the key points of the Hub and be meaningful and useful to the reader. Not sure if it does that job in this case?
Oh you mean the snippets that one always reads that google puts on the seeps under the title? I never click on any of then because tgey are nonsensical. But, thanks, I will read it
Dear Tessa,
That's really beautiful piece of writing. I would say it's very unique, haven't read such thing before. If you can break down the chunky paragraphs into small ones and add more images to make it more appealing.
Otherwise, It is fantastic piece of writing.
I loved it
Good Luck
Thank you. That is good advice. I have been going through it, doing more research. Great advice. Hopefully I will have fixed it by next week.
My pleasure Tessa

Waiting for your final work
Good luck Tessa
Hi Everybody. Thanks for your input.
It is now substantially shorter, is much easier to read, has many more pictures, is better laid out, and links to support what I am saying.
Anything more that needs to be done?
Many thanks.

This is not a lit crit assessment or a get more traffic piece of cynicism.
So I am a compete amateur when I say the following...
It is a wonderfully honest piece of writing but sometimes blind optimism is the best approach to life. It can only disappoint, after all, and what is so unusual and unbearable about that?
I'm sorry, but that is what you think of my attitude, not what you think of the hub. I put in quite a few references about large numbers of people feeling the same way, so it is not a piece that won't get traffic. The point is for it to get more traffic.
What do you think of the hub in terms of getting traffic, SEO, etc.? Is it easier to read now? Does it look better?
Sorry Tess. Sometimes a little human feeling enters into conversations. I reckon its a fine page but might benefit from a little more optimism.
Ah, I thought I had improved on that. For instance, I put in an article of people marrying in their 60s. Also put in examples of things people did when they stoped dating.
Do you regard not dating as a negative? I find it a tremendous relief. So do those friends of mine who have the same decsion. It is not a negative thing.
What would you change?
I think anyone who persevered with dating and found love (as I did at 51) feels sad to read of people who have given up.
It really comes down to what you want out of life. I'm willing to risk pain in my life for the sake of experiencing great joy, wheras other people are happier with a life that's more low key but on an even keel.
In fact I gave up meditation because although it blunted stress and unpleasantness very effectivelys, it also blunted feelings of joy and I wasn't willing to pay that price!
Marisa, I replied to you publicly, but it's not the sort of information I would want permanently available so I've deleted it and sent it to you privately.
I haven't had any confirmation if the piece is now better for getting more traffic, and if it reads better. I'm sorry that some felt that their disagreement with the contents had anything to do with the traffic and the way it read. It wasn't the point. The piece does well and lots of people don't date anymore - myself included. People google it which is why the piece does well. I wanted it to do better.
Thanks to the people who suggested more illustrations and to make it shorter and more concise. That seemed good advice. I did break it up.

Hi all,I've been here a month now and have 20 hubs, but when I read some of the forum posts I am worried that my traffic is low. I have had around 680 views total for all of my 20 hubs which averages about 6 per day for most of them, on average. I know it takes time to build up traffic and I am...

Hi,Do more experienced Hubbers have any useful tips for getting your article moved to a niche site? I kept seeing advice that goes something like "make sure you write a high-quality article" but it just seems so vague to me. I have 9 articles now and the only one that was moved to a niche...

Hello, my learned colleagues! I am new to this (posted a few hubs last night for the first time). I have been reading forums for several hours today, as well as a few interesting hubs (thank you, Mark Knowles), about blogging and creating links and adsense, and all kinds of intriguing stuff that I...

Do you always leave a comment if you read a hub?I have followers whom I've never seen in the comments sections and just wondered what other hubbers think about the comments in general. Do you leave comments when you read? Sometimes? Always? Never? Please give your reasons with...

When I joined here a couple weeks ago I thought I could write hubs that others may benefit from and I in turn could read others interesting hubs. I guess I was naive as it seems no one will read my hubs unless I spend a lot of time promoting them, which requires first learning how to...

So I've deleted all of the idled hubs so far and am wondering when I will have none left. I'm not going to edit anymore until I see some sort of improvement in traffic. Too much trouble for no results at all. With all of the scrapers and with HP's brilliant program I'll soon have...
