Now that the the Justice Against State-Sponsored Terrorism Act is now Law, Congress has opened up the floodgates for other countries and foreign citizens to sue America for any Tortuous reason.
Will America be sued first be some one or will one, if any, of the 9/11 families sue Saudi Arabia first?
What are the other ramifications to be expected from this dumbest laws by Congress since voting to attack Iraq?
I think some world court out there in the world found George W. Bush to be guilty of war crimes. I don't know how or why every senator democrat and republican that voted with the exception of Harry Reid voted 97-1 to over ride the President's veto. The 9-11 families must have a powerful lobby. I have not seen the senate show that kind of patriotism shown in behave of a curtain group of Americans in a long time, maybe never. I know I haven't seen anything like that for the people The President wanted and wants to help now. I wonder is this vote to sue a toothless tiger that hasn't been born yet and may never live but, serve to fool the people with false hope. The world will try to sue The United States when a blueprint is shown how the US will sue Saudi Arabia from America and get them to pay a judgement found in American Courts. I believe it's just another smear on the President and will follow The GITMO Trails as a can't do in America.
The "lobby" is called irrational, misplaced, political patriotism.
I think some foreign court WILL find President Bush guilty of war crimes. It doesn't matter they can't collect, it is the propaganda value of having it done "legally".. I don't use the quotes to imply incorrectness, but to emphasize it, because of Congress, has become truly legal.
While we might not impound Saudi Assets on the off-chance a 9/11 family actually wins in court (I think the chances are next to nil if the court follows the law and not emotion) there is nothing stopping other countries, who don't care about retaliation, from finding some way to screw with our assets. But that is minor compared to the political points they will score.
I think 97 Senators ought to lose their job over this.
Many days are for the thie that often sneaks into the housef, just one day for the house owner.
If the Democrats don't flip the senate to Democratic majority irrational Governmentlessness will cause the fall of America. Beating Trump Should be easy but, the POTUS has no power without the house or senate, remember Barrack's Presidency? I don't think high school civics is part of education anymore for reasons of creating politically uninformed voters.
IMO PBO was surprisingly productive in his last two years.
In spite of their obstruction, just think how things would be if they supported the things that they agreed with him on and there were quite a few of them. They through the middle class under the bus to spite PBO and claim he put them on food stamps. This hollow senate vote is the first time they laid a glove on Barrack, they have use collateral damage to the American people as a threat to The President and when they strike the people they have put the blame on PBO. IMO..
Mitch McConnell is now saying it is Obama's fault for not warning him about The Bill the senate that he leads passed 97-1 The sad thing about it is millions of republican voters will drink that Kool-Aid because they love a lie.
I had to pick myself up off the floor when I read about him saying that. GOP alternate reality is a fascinating thing to observe.
A better question is, who in the world could win a lawsuit against a country, and how does one go about hiring lawyers to even sue a country...
And an even bigger one is how to collect from a foreign government under the laws and court decisions of YOUR country. Think Uncle Sam will seize the assets of the Saudi government?
And if you can find a lawyer or law firm, will they take the case on a contingency basis. A lawyer of that caliber would be unaffordable by the average citizen.

47 conservative Republican Senators signed a letter to Iran intended to undercut Presidential foreign policy. This breaks over 200 years of precedent, and probably violates the separation of Powers part of the Constitution. Should Americans, after puking over their blatantly unAmerican...

I am not saying ALL Republicans are, I am just wondering why anyone would actually stay with a party that is clearly not on the same page as most of America? Most (not all) but most who are die hard right Republicans watch Fox news. Not sure if you have noticed, they can't even get along with each...

When you say "Obama has ruined this country," can you explain why you feel that way? There is no denying that the nation is divided into the right and left side. The right side, more so, tends to say suck things as "He is the most divisive President," and "He is the worst...

Read this article from the NY Times. It's about a well planned, highly funded conspiracy to shutdown the government if Obama Care is not defunded. Please share this with everybody you know. The republican extremists are not playing by the rules of democracy and are making a...
