I just published a new hub; a product review. It is showing the symbol that it went through Hub Pro, that's fine, but inside that logo is a tiny red circle with an exclamation point inside.
What's that about?? It doesn't say in the key at the bottom of the page. And no errors or highlights show up on the article when I take it into edit mode, either.
Answers? Ideas?
Click on the red pencil and you'll see some changes made by the editor. If you're happy with them, you dont need to do anything.
Marisa, this is a new tip for me also. Does the red pencil disappear after one clicks on it and views the changes?
Thanks..I've had several hubs vetted and edited by Hub Pro, but this is the first one on which I've seen that symbol, despite some changes having been made to the others...How odd.
@Dzy,
Marisa has answered your query correctly.
The red exclamation point is, basically, a notification symbol. Once you view the changes the exclamation point will go away. I was confused by it too, the first time I saw it because it hadn't noticed it the first time I had the green hubpro symbol.
I just love how they always delete Amazon capsules. Why don't we just simply eliminate Amazon altogether from HP since it seems that editors don't want it.
Good point Luis. I was wondering the same thing.
They don't always. I have several Hubs which have been moved to niche sites with the Amazon capsules intact. The trick is to make sure the item is directly relevant to the TITLE of the Hub, and make sure you couch your description of the product in personal terms, i.e. say "I recommend" or "This is the best book I've found..." etc. If you post an Amazon capsule without a personal recommendation, it will get deleted.
All the Amazon capsules that I use are about photography on a photography hub (article) however I will try your suggestion and include a personal recommendation and see what happens.
Ah, but it's not enough to be about photography in a photography Hub. That's too general.
To give you an example from another field. Say I wrote a Hub about sewing a dress. If I include an Amazon capsule for a sewing machine, that's too general. You do need a sewing machine to make a dress, but any old machine will do.
Now, say it was a dress with a shirred, embroidered front and I included an Amazon capsule for a sewing machine with shirring/embroidery functions built-in - that would be fine. But I'd also have to include a description saying why I think this is the right machine to buy to do the job.
Same with recipes. You can't just put cookery products in a cookery Hub. You must choose ingredients or utensils which are essential for that specific recipe, and say why the one you've picked is the best for the job.
It's what Paul Edmonson calls "using Amazon with precision" and the editors seem to be red-hot on it these days

Yesterday I updated one of my hubs with a new poll. So why did it get the NFQ symbol, when nothing was spammy? I've rearranged the capsules, hoping it helps. Any ideas why?

I have been thinking of leaving HubPages for a while now because of several reasons. With their latest ebay/amazon update I now have to reformat over 90 hubs (Some had not been published yet and I was waiting for Halloween). Rather than doing this I will use my time looking for a site and...

I just finished editing the 212 hubs on this account, with another 100 or so on other accounts to be done tomorrow.I have:-Removed all RSS feeds (bar hubmob).-Removed all news capsules.-Removed all Amazon capsules excluding sales hubs and some rare exceptions.-Have nothing that should trigger...

When I write a personal recommendation in the 'description section; on my Amazon capsule, it doesn't seem to be appearing as it has in the past. Will this appear, after publication?

Today we will reduce the number of search driven products that can be displayed to one in the eBay and Amazon capsules. See last week's announcement. Also, when a product capsule is aligned to the right and it has a single product listing, the product picture will now be enlarged. You...
