    Hi Hubbers,

I'd like some help with passing the Quality Assessment Process. Will you please give feedback on my Hub What Therapy Group is Right for You? (must be signed in to view). What can I do to improve? Thanks!

      Hi KC smile

Here are some things you may consider doing:

First, I'm a little confused, is this an article to help people who need therapy or is this an article for perhaps a counselor to explore various group healing techniques? From the title, I think it is the former. If that's correct, I would suggest writing this article with a little more warmth and personality. It's well put together, but upon reading, I feel as though it is coming from a more clinical perspective.

I would Make the first image a full image, rather than to the side. More eye-catching and interesting

Instead of jumping right into what therapy group is best for you, maybe relate to the reader a little bit first. Maybe have the first capsule read along the lines of "No human is without their personal difficulties. The healing process can be a daunting and intimidating experience, but it doesn't have to be." You know, maybe talk about how healing it is to be with others who are going through a similar experience.

Those are just a few initial thoughts.

Thanks! I can definitely add some warmth and I appreciate your feedback of that.  It keeps coming back as spammy- but I've removed the link and maps- so I feel like I'm going crazy on where I am putting other spammy elements in-- do you think the warmth is part of that or am I missing something?

I hear you on the spammy issue...lol....I run into that every so often myself smile  Let me run over there and see if I can spot anything

Real quick and very important note to make....DO NOT ever use google images unless you've had specific permission for the photographer.  You could find yourself in some hot legal water.

Pixabay is a great great great tool for images that are commercially free to use (pixabay.com).  You must be careful about copyright laws.

I wonder if that might be part of the problem....maybe find some pixabay images that you can use (be sure to source them all to pixabay.com, you don't have to, but it's appreciated by the pixabay website).

.....but don't add a link to Pixabay on every photo, or you'll have too many links to them.

I'm sorry, I meant to say You're Welcome too smile

maybe to help diminish whatever is coming up as "spammy", share any personal stories or experience.  Hubpages Highly Encourages this technique.  It helps to show that you (a) know what you are talking about and (b) connect with your readers

          lol...sorry for the individual comments.

I think what might help you as well is if you add a small paragraph or two at the beginning of each capsule (before the bulleted points) discussing that particular type.  The article seems to be made entirely of bullet points rather than discussion then highlighted bullet points (I hope that's not too confusing).  This could definitely come off as spammy.

The spammy elements will most probably refer to the sentence, "Check out KC Counseling and Psychoanalysis for group openings!"

I did take the link out that was originally there.  How do you point people to refer to your webpage without being spammy?

Hi KCCouseling. Welcome to HubPages! ☺

I agree with simplehappylife and I would also like to suggest the following points:

      1. Add an appropriate video if possible.

      2. Add callout capsules if you wish to highlight important points.

      3. Add a table to minimise information if you wish to.

I hope this helps. Good luck!

just as a precaution, when you search youtube, click "advanced" and select "creative commons".  This will pull up videos that YouTubers have posted under the creative commons license (free to reuse).  Also, when you are on a particular video, click "show more" where the description is and just verify that the video is in fact listed under the Creative Commons (reuse is allowed) license.  There are different types of cc licenses and you have to be aware as to which kind you are using.

Here is the official cc website so you can understand the laws and licenses better (and keep yourself out of trouble).  https://creativecommons.org/

The misuse of images is enough to prevent the page from being featured. You need to use images that are in the public domain or have a creative commons licence.

I would suggest this page for help:

    https://hubpageshelp.com/media/Learning … -image-use

Also, I reckon you should move the book ref to the end. It looks like an ad for the book at the moment.

The link to your page will surely be seen as self-promotional as others have said.

The book is a source- and has to be cited- all of the images are from a creative commons license place- pixaby which I found from the help of the forum - Where is it linking it to my page? I have taken ALL links off of the page
