And , ......Obama  defied Congress to do it !  And the left focuses  on Trumps" Orange hair " ?

Orange hair and the weird 'do are unique.

Spending millions of dollars in taxpayer money without discussion, approval or  oversight is business as usual in Washington.

Again?  ...  The Palestinian Authority reportedly uses that money to help families of terrorists who are in Israeli prisons, and the families of jihadists who killed themselves in a terrorist attack on Israelis.

The hundreds of millions Obama has given to terrorist countries makes the US out to be a laughing stock to the world once again.

While the media is focused on showing protest signs to deflect the attention away from Obama's anti-humanitarian acts.

That money would have been better spent going to inner cities to help families in need, our own citizens.

I see on day 3 Trump signed an EO to  do away with the TPP.  Both Sanders and Trump blasted the TPP campaigning. The media doesn't want to talk about the TPP, they want to distract the brainwashed public from that because its an issue both the Dems and Reps can agree on.  Instead they want to focus on why its bad and they are so full of it.

We have a dictator running this country into the ground and you're worried about something that Washington does daily. Really?

      Dear Mr. Wingert,
How is President Trump "running this country into the ground?" How is he a" Dictator?" What are your fears?

Are you fine with what Obama did? Are you saying he is not responsible by claiming "Washington" did "something that Washington does daily?" Do you think $221 million dollars of taxpayer money is nothing to worry about? Do you think giving this money to Palestine/terrorists/non-allies is just fine?

I am really curious, so I hope you can enlighten me/us.

The phone Trump tweets from is an android phone not on a private government server. Hillary was crucified for that.

He tried to throw the press out of the White House, the first step in a Dictatorship.

And Mexico isn't paying for the wall.

Trump keeps obsessing about making officials take pictures of how many people attended his inauguration (after the fact) because it was poorly attended (probably the rain contributed to that). His self aggrandizement is getting sickening.

He picks on Sean Spicer for not wearing "dark" suits.

He won the election, and can't stand it that Hillary won the popular vote, so is saying we have voter fraud, when last year it was shown we clearly do not. His adult children should not be allowed to be his advisers, there are nepotism laws. And 4 of them are registered to vote in more than one state, his "issue" today. This is normal when people forget after moving to tell the old state to take them off.

The man is exhibiting signs of poor mental health, and still has not put his business holdings in a blind trust, though I don't believe the POTUS has to, it goes a long way towards good will.

It should be easy to win the Congress back to D's in the midterms, especially if Trump keeps acting like a fool. Already his staff looks exhausted trying to explain his gaffes and stay ahead of him as he makes more. I understand there is a steep learning curve to the job, but standing in front of a CIA monument honoring our dead, and bragging about his fave subject--him--was flat out disgusting.

And Obama made our country a laughingstock? This is why many progressives don't like many conservatives, they can be such hypocrites.

Pres. Obama has done everything he could to promote and  excel his love for all things  radical  directly  into the government offices and the fabric of America  government process .  OUTSIDE of the legislative process ,He has promoted Islam's  radicalism  , he has  bent ,twisted , and deformed the constitution of the United States  ,  He has effectively economically -normalized relations with terrorist nations of Iran and now Palestine economically  ,  Why not give U.S. money to  the terrorists right ?

Good thing American voters woke up and elected Trump.

But they didn't.  The system did.  He fell 3 million votes short.  60 million people out of 325 million put him in office.  That's not an alternative fact.  That's a fact.

Again, do you have a source for your claim?

Too bad the  left can't change the electoral process to fit the  election conclusions , right ? Apparently  your new left  wants the popular vote to count when IT wins and the electoral college when IT  needs to  facilitate  victory for democrats ?
          So typical of late .
The evidence , statistics and election process truths are  right there before us and  yet  ,  the left is  not only still in denial about the Obama  disaster but  in shock about Trump victory ?
Time for the left to grow up .

Hello Kathleen, It looks like your fact might be keeping company with those Alternative facts you mentioned.

While it is true that 60 million, (citizens), our of 325 million, (citizens), put Pres. Trump in office, you are offering a fact about oranges to a discussion about apples.

To be relevant, (and not alternative), you should have offered that 60 million (voters), out of 123 million, (voters), put Pres. Trump in office.

Your fact gives the appearance that 20% of citizens put Trump in office, when the relevant fact gives the appearance that almost 50% of voting citizens put Pres. Trump in office.

Hmm... 20% vs. 50%, spin or alternative fact?

Alternative fact.  True enough (in this case) but as you point out, highly biased and spun so as to give an impression that is NOT true.

That facts are not in yet.  President Trump is lunching an investigation into illegals voting in 2016.  California issues illegals drivers licenses at a place where Americans register to vote, and Obama basically green-lighted illegals to vote in an interview.   I'm sure its in the millions.

"I will be asking for a major investigation into VOTER FRAUD, including those registered to vote in two states, those who are illegal and....even, those registered to vote who are dead (and many for a long time). Depending on results, we will strengthen up voting procedures!"
          ~ Trump

Trump won the Electoral vote by a landslide, that's a fact!

"The American Government is facilitating the strengthening of the Arab terrorists, whom they constantly refer to a “moderates,” “peace partners” and “Palestinians,” and the delegitimization of Israeli sovereignty. By referring to Jerusalem neighborhoods as “settlements” and refusing to recognize Jerusalem as Israel’s Capital City, the United States is acting as an enemy of the State of Israel.

The simple fact that the United States, while claiming to be mediators, is doing its best to dictate to the State of Israel what final solution/end to the so-called “negotiations” with the Arabs should be is a clear indication of their lying and blatant hypocrisy.

U.S. President Obama has made it clear numerous times that he wants to facilitate the establishment of an Arab “Palestinian state.” He considers Israel an “occupier” and firmly believes that there had been an Arab country called “Palestine” here before the establishment of the State of Israel."

To clarificar all this   is necessary to identify the actions pursued by the Palestinian people from those that are the responsibility of the Palestinian authority, both to reward merits and to assign responsibilities. And I say this because I understand that the policy to be defined with the Palestine and Israel can only be defined after clarifying this theme

There were 200 million registered voters in the US at the time of the election.  You can look it up.  I still haven't seen a source for the initial information in this question?

    1. Live to Learn profile image60
Live to Learnposted 7 years agoin reply to this

So where did the 325 million come from? Out of the 200 million how many actually showed up at the polls? That number would be the only relevant one.

  10. Kathleen Cochran profile image76
    Kathleen Cochranposted 7 years ago

Can you folks add and subtract?  Population: 325 million.  200 million registered voters. 63 million for Clinton.  60 million for Trump.  No I don't have the figures for write-ins and third party candidates.  Now, can I please see a source for the original statement that set off this discussion?

    1. wilderness profile image96
wildernessposted 7 years agoin reply to this

Assuming the 125M unregistered are children and convicts, they obviously distracted 77M from voting, and thus are part of why Trump won.  In addition, the 77M that did not vote for Clinton (or at all) must be considered as aiding Trump.  So in reality there are 214M out of 325M that are responsible for his win.  And as there were 125M restricted from voting, he took 107% of the possible voters.

      Hello again Kathleen,

If we are on the same page, this might be the original statement you asked about:

"... 60 million people out of 325 million put him in office."

... that looks like the culprit.

Considering the context of the exchanges, it certainly reads like a barb that 20% of the people, (that 325 million), put Trump into office.  Was that wrong? I don't think so.

But, still speaking of facts, as you did, the folks that decide who gets elected are the voters - and there certainly are not 325 million of them. Your fact would have been a true fact if you had used the number of total votes cast; 125(+/- a million or two).

Then your 60 million number would be appropriate to the context of your fact. But if so; then the numbers change and it is closer to 50% of the people, (voting people). It looks like your fact, when properly addressed, becomes an alternative fact. Write-ins, absentee ballots, or number of registered voters have no bearing.

Am I chasing a misconception? Did you really not mean that as a jab at claims that Trump has a  'mandate', or the moral illegitimacy of those 20% that you claim put him in office?

The NY Post:  The Obama administration for some time had been pressing for the release of the money — which comes from the US Agency for International Development and is to be used for humanitarian aid in the West Bank and Gaza — for the Palestinian Authority, to support political and security reforms as well as help prepare for good governance and the rule of law in a future Palestinian state, according to the notification sent to Congress.

The $1.25 million for UN agencies is to be used as voluntary contributions to the UN Peacebuilding Fund; the UN Special Coordinator on improving the UN response to sexual exploitation and abuse; the Montreal Protocol Secretariat, which oversees the protection of the ozone layer; the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights; and the UN System Staff College.

The $4 million for climate programs includes assistance for clean energy, sustainable landscapes, cutting greenhouse gas emissions and creating a climate technology center.

The last-minute allocation also contained $1.05 million in funding for the State Department’s Special Representative for Afghanistan and Pakistan office and the Bureau of South and Central Asian Affairs.
