I was thinking there should be a way for hubbers to implement an "add a page" function to our hubs. Something along the lines of a "page 2" or "next page" button. This way it will be easier to maintain longer series types of hubs without having to go back and re-enter all the tags and layout and title etc...
The button would clone the structure of the original page and we could just add more content.
I understand that most people want short and to the point information, but there are many hubbers here that soley write fiction or entertainment type hubs and those can be long especially the ones that are full of pictures. By beiing allowed to break the hubs into several pages it allows a searcher to load a page quicker and determine if the page has what they are looking for.
Any thoughts?
I think you've missed the point of Hubs...

Yes I know what a hub is, I didn't miss any points. I was thinking it would be easier to make series type hubs without having to place links to each page of the series.
My point, if you missed it, is that not everyone here on HP is writing informational hubs or trying to earn adsense. Maybe that was the original intent of HP but obviously it has evolved. This site is full of poets and fiction writers and if HP did not want this then they should have stated that in their TOS. But of course they want that because it adds value to HP. The larger the membership the larger the pages of content. All very good for Google.
How would adding a "next page" button be any different than adding a text link to another hub? Still multiple pages and more chances for page impressions.
I'm pretty sure the "original intent" of HP hasn't changed. They don't mind people using the site for artistic purposes, because it spreads the word and improves the community - but it's more of a branch than the main trunk.
HubPages is a business, not a charity. They can't afford to go down the path of encouraging the non-commercial side of Hubbing. I can't see HubPages spending time and effort developing features that don't contribute to the profitability of the site.
I'd use a second hub for this. Put links to the second hub at the top and bottom of the first hub, allowing users to navigate. I did a 5 part series of hubs this way.
Yep, thats how we have to do it now but I was thinking if there were a quicker way so we didn't have to do all that linking and reentering tags and everything associated with creating a whole new hub. Just think it would be quicker and more aesthetically appealing.
That's exactly what hub groups were designed for, although a lot of people use them for other things.
I can see the use of the hub groups for similar hubs but what about an article that's 3000+ words. Not a different article not a different topic. That would create a very long page and readers online just don't have the attention span to follow what could be a very interesting story.
I don't think much has evolved in terms of the original intent of the site.
You can write series and link them together at the bottom, but there's really no need to have a new page or page 2 button. I've done that before, but I usually don't write series.
Most of the time people don't follow through the entire series, anyway.

Hi everyone! Today we released an update to the Hub Groups interface in My Account. The new interface closely matches the About the Author UI and should be familiar to many of you. Please note that we did not make any functional changes to Hub Groups (such as integrating it with About the Author)...

Can anyone explain why my page views have plummeted in the last few days. They have gone from 300 per day to 25 per day. Before December I was steadily increasing page views and was up in the high 300's. Throughout December the views slowly dropped down to the mid 200's then out of the blue 3 days...

LOL I had to reply to this. I was waiting for Isaballa to do it, but I am happy to oblige.1. There are only 15000 results for that search term2. This is possibly the most patronising thread I have seen on the forums.3. This is not the place to promote your poorly punctuated, lacking in content,...

I have been on hubpages for two months. I have read multiple articles on SEO and backlinking. Ninety percent of my hubs do not have backlinking. But I choose for a while to say no backlinking. It was "different" I thought and "original". ...
