In the past few days I have noticed my Hubscore consistently decreasing. My hub scores and views have not changed significantly and several I have edited and rewritten so they've gone up in score and and my views have also gone up overall. I have commented more on others hubs than in the past and received more positive comments on my hubs. I have been more involved in the forums than prior to the beginning of the drop. The one thing I've noticed is that the drops seem to be preceded by hopping hubs. I've experimented with this by not hopping hobs 1 day at a time with no decrease in ranking and hopping 4 hubs with a 1 point drop 3 hours later, 10 hubs with a 2 point drop 3 hours later which has been repeated several times over the last 4 days. Overall I went from a high of 93 to a low of now 86 with it consistently dropping without going up. Any ideas about this or similar experiences? Basically, I will be swearing off hopping hubs from here on out. Maybe it's just superstitious behavior and I realize the scores aren't related to other metrics but it's a reinforcement thing. Seeing the score go up of at least remain at 92 or 93 makes me want to write more hubs. Consistently dropping scores with increased hubs, traffic, hub ratings and activity makes me feel like it may not be worth the effort.
Scores don't mean very much. I don't take any notice.
Hi Natalie!
I advice you not to mind the scores much. Before, my scores were in the mid 70's and they increased to 80. Then, they got dropped to 70 for sometime. I did everything like you have said and was depressed too. But, now I have my scores in mid 80's and they fluctuate a lot. So don't think much about this.
Thanks Sakina! It's just a lot of work and even though the scores don't mean much when you feel like you are just consistently dropping it is discouraging. I'll do my best to take your advice. Best wishes.
Bear in mind that Paul Edmondson posted recently that a score in the 80's is a good score. I don't know where everyone got the idea that anything under 90 is a tragedy.
Also, remember that the more Hubs you write, the worse your score will be - because each time you write a new Hub, your Hubberscore drops. That's because part of your HubberScore is an average of all your HubScores, and new Hubs have lower scores than established ones.
Actually my hubs always start out at their highest then go a bit lower. Thanks for the comment. It was just more that I hadn't added but one new hub over the week, was commenting on hubs, getting comment on mine, participating in the forum, answering a question, and hopping hubs and my score suddenly went south. This despite my views and comments being up, my traffic being up, my scores either stable or up. I stopped hopping hubs yesterday and my score has rebounded 4 points already.
Ignore your hubscore. It's meaningless. It has no effect on your earnings or chances of acceptance on a niche site.
I may not have 100's of hubs, but I am quite active on the forums, my individual hub scores are good and I do get comments on my hubs and there is interaction on polls, etc. But my score is always on the lower 80's. A few years ago I was 95 and stayed there for a long time before it began dropping. I have no clue why, but back then I was not as active on the forums. If you say hub hopping is taking your score down, I would say posting on the forums is doing it to me. But I know it's not and I don't really care about my score.
I don't think forum posting brings down your score. Forum posting is virtually the only thing I do on HubPages nowadays, and as you know I do it a lot. It's my personal procrastination lounge.
Every now and then I'll update my Hubs, and once in a blue moon I'll feel like writing a new one, and that's all I do. I never go near Q&A, never read or comment on Hubs, never hop. My score used to be high 90's (I even got 100 a few times) but now it's generally in the low 90's.
See!! You just proved me right
HP forums are the same to me as they are to you - a procrastination lounge.
I do none of the other things either, just post here. I do not comment on other hubs, maybe once in 4-5 months at most. You went down 10 points from your high, so did I. Not that it matters and I know that forum posts don't take you down, but I am stating that I could say it was affecting my score.
But the point is, my behaviour hasn't changed in that time. I have been following that pattern for three or four years - once upon a time, that was enough to keep my scores high, now that exact same behaviour results in a different score.
I am discouraged by this also, my scores today were 84, 85 and 86 then back to 84 which is where it is now. I believe that HP really wants writers to quit writing.

I took a hiatus for awhile from Hub Pages! However, in the past week or so, I have added new hubs participated in forums, asked a question or two, participated with the Hub Hopper, have read some Hubs, yet my Hubber Score is lower than it was when I was doing nothing. I don't get it!

It's not fair!My score is now 76. This will limit my readers further! And so even if I write some good hubs in future, I will suffer from lack of readership.

There are some days when forums get tired of me, I am here every second.Been tired today so not much activity in questions and forums. I did not leave much comments on the hubs I read either, just a few.HP is penalizing me, I lost 4 points because of this. I hate being below 90, now I'm 88.......I...

Just had a big drop on my profile score. And all my hubs were featured along with a steady 10 Editors Choice. I say 'were' because 3 were just unfeatured and I don't know what to do about that. My views are over 945,000. Boo-hoo. Hubpages doesn't love me anymore!

I just started noticing the Hub Hopper and have tried it three times now. So reading the FAQ's I found that Hopper's can influence your score. I know, we should not be obsessed with The Score, but....I can't help it. I think they give you test hubs to access your scoring and then they give you real...

I'm thinking the answer is probably yes?If you have hubs that have been deemed "not featured", for one reason or another, will that factor into lowering your overall score/rating as a HubPages member? Example--let's say your overall rating is 75. If 10 non featured hubs become...
