At over 9000 feet elevation and at the end of 23 miles of dirt road, the stocked lake of trout is where I saw a female Bald Eagle, symbol of our nation for the first time in my life. Too bad I had a lousy lens of 200mm. Plan to go up there again with my brand news 1000mm lens and get better pictures.
Beautiful! They are such majestic birds. There is a raptor conservation near where I live, in the snake river canyon, but I have yet to spot an eagle there. One day, perhaps.
That is AWESOME Picture! How close were you?
I used to have a Canon PowerShot, and Canon is a very good company!
So the 200mm lens is very bad, it has color fringe:
See below for comparison
50mm fixed lens:
200mm crappy lens with color fringe which is why so frustrated that I had an awesome shot but super lousy lens
See the color fringe at 1:1
500mm-1000mm lens just got yesterday (the day after the Bald Eagle)
less color fringe at 1:1
Of course I bought mine new from Ebay for $135 since I don't have money (bought it for my birthday) but check out these :Most expensive camera lens in the world:

Canon 5200mm F/14 Mirror Lens 5200mm. This lens is perfect for shooting weddings 18-32 miles away! In fact, to even get your subject in focus they would have to be standing 394 feet away from the lens.

What is your favorite DSLR lens for macro photography?I do a lot of product photography for my Etsy shop and a lot of close up photography work for my blog and HubPages articles. I'm in the market for my first DSLR within the next year and am looking for lens recommendations. Thanks!
