    Hi Hubbers,

I'd like some help with passing the Quality Assessment Process. Will you please give feedback on my Hub How To Become A Better Person.. What can I do to improve? Thanks!

I like your hub. I like the paragraph about forgiveness. It is important to forgive others.  Otherwise, people hurt themselves more by trying to get even with others. Compation , it is another paragraph to practice by some people.  I like your pictures. I like your entire hub. You need to read the hub pages learning center to see how many pictures you can have in your hub. You need to check for errors. My best wishes passing the hub.

Erorantes, not sure what you mean by your comment about pictures.  There is no limit on the number of pictures you can have.

On the Stellar Guidelines section on a Hub, it only ticks the boxes up to a certain number of photos - but that doesn't mean it's the maximum number you can have.

Somebody has to be the one to tell you, so it might as well be me. Your article is well-intentioned by offers nothing but empty nostrums. A thousand thousand pieces of advice of this sort appear on daytime TV, in checkout magazines, and self-help books.

And, there are numerous grammar issues, with suggestions in brackets:

"Effort is the single most underrated and overlooked aspect on the road of (to) becoming a better person. Simply (,) if you want to become a better person you have to put in the effort (redundant). For you probably already know heaps of ways of becoming a better person, but have decided not to put in the effort (so why are you writing this article?). For example, a way in which you can become a better person is to Sign (sign) up for a CPR course, which takes approximately 2-3 hours to complete. Something which (that) you would ordinarily bypass (awkward phrasing). So the first step to becoming a better person is. (no period) Making (no cap) the decision that you will put in the effort unconditionally.

I see your Hub isn't published so I can't comment on it.  From Rupert's excerpt, it looks like you made a few small mistakes with punctuation - if that continued throughout the Hub, it might have been enough for them to reject it.   HubPages requires good spelling and grammar so you do need to proof-read your work carefully.

"Being a better person" may not have been the best choice for a first article, but please don't get discouraged.   If you enjoy writing, want to get better at it, and also want to make some pin money from it, HubPages is a good place to do that.

    Faxes? Aren't they almost gone?

I notice a lot of people dealing with various topics are delighted to tell us how modern the world is. How TV and internet has changed everything... Please don't treat your readers (and I'm not just addressing you, Steven) like they are as thick as planks. They are reading your work on the internet, probably on their slinky-dinky, whoopy-sooper-dooper phone. No-one under the age of 80 needs to be told this stuff. You are wasting good pixels.

Ugh... moon landings, Everest. Stop it. We KNOW all that.

"Cool, old man chilling" Isn't that Henry Winkler, 'The Fonz'?

Fitbit Amazon capsule. Does Fitbit make one a better person? Or does it promote this selfie-obsessed society we find ourselves part of these days?

Okay, so to be kinder... yes, we all want to be better than we are. Many continue to strive for it daily. Most are 'efforting' like crazy. In fact there's too much effort happening. We need more chillin' bro.

I can't believe I just wrote that big_smile Put it down to the fact that I'm still feeling the effect of two face numbing injections.

Anyway, try to make your hub different from all the other 'make yourself a better person' stuff out there. Says she, who wrote an article titled exactly that a few weeks ago.

To me its all about the point I'm trying to make more than the minute details. Yes, i messed up with the (fax ) I don't have one, and I just assumed also, this should be called post your hub on here to get roasted instead of 'help'  thanks for nothing. Have a nice day

If you don't want feedback and constructive criticism, then don't ask for it. All the points made are perfectly valid and useful to you. If you want to continue posting generic, all-been-done-a million-times content, then don't let me stop you hmm

Edit: I'm afraid you have to pay attention to the minute details. Get them wrong and you lose all credibility.

Maybe go read that paragraph about forgiveness again.

The main thing about self-help articles is they need to seem authentic.  You need to not write about things you haven't used yourself. You need to really seem like someone striving to be better, and succeeding.  Give examples.

Aha, I see it's published now.

I am really surprised by your paragraph about faxes and computers. Is this an article written twenty years ago that you're publishing now?   Because that's about the last time I used a fax machine.  I would update that paragraph because it makes the article sound very dated.

Your biggest problem is the fitbit ad at the end.   I suggest you read my Hub on the Basic Rules before you write any more Hubs, it will explain why that Amazon ad is a problem and it will help you get your Hubs approved. You'll find it on the slider on my profile.   There's much more information in the Learning Centre, but it can be somewhat overwhelming - my Basic Rules Hub gives you enough information to get started.
