    I want to be sure I'm doing this the right way.  I've been showing Audrey Hunt and the photo date for attribution on my own photos.  I've also used Audrey Hunt/vocalcoach (my hub name) and the date of the photo.  The Learning Center doesn't give information for attributing your own photos.  Help please.

      Maybe just write "Author's photo" in the section where it says "source"?

          @smile good friend, vocalcoach:
          You mean that now I have more to remember? Now I copy the URL (www.pixabay.com) and place it in the Source when all I need to run is poppyr's suggestion?
          If HP gets more complex, I may go to bed.

            Kenneth, the OP asked how to attribute photos they took themselves with their own camera.

            For Pixabay photos you don't need the URL. All you need to do is type Pixabay in the Source box... but you don't even have to do that. Pixabay doesn't require attribution and HubPages doesn't care smile

              @ smile theraggededge,
              Hoooo-Raaah! (Marine Corp. yell). Are you serious? Yahooo! (my jubilant chant and a delicious chocolate drink).
              Thanks and Happy Memorial Day!

                  @ Melissae1963, I was only joking. Oh, I see the typo.
                  LOL. I hope that you are not offended. What about
                  Hershey's and sweet milk?

                    Nope. I don't like chocolate drinks at all...not chocolate milkshakes either.

      I simply write it as "own photo" in the source column. And, when somebody clicks on it, I hope, it clears tells that it is an own photo.

      The short answer is that you own the copyright of the photo, so there's no "wrong" way to attribute. You can even choose not to attribute at all and you aren't breaking any rules or laws.

      The long answer is that it's a good idea to let your audience know that the photos are your own because it adds to your credibility as an author and shows that you have personal experience with the subject. There are a variety of ways you can do this. Some choose to put "Author" as the source, some use their real name, and some prefer to use their HubPages username.

    I almost always use my own photos. When it's an old one from an album I attribute it like 'Private Album' and when it's one I took myself  I attribute it with ©Titia Geertman
