I have several ideas on what to write, but I have written no articles as of yet. What typer of article should I write. I want to write science, but Autism is my expertise, and I don't want to fail. I want to broaden my spectrum, but I'm left with writer's block. Can you help me?

It's okay if you need to do research for an article to prepare yourself to write effectively about it. Often I brainstorm my capsule headings for a new Hub idea, and if I need more, I'll sleuth around until I discover relevant and interesting information.

Researching adds to the workload of creating an article, but for most Hubs it's a necessary step. Of course, I stick to topics I'm interested in, which makes creating and learning about the subject enjoyable, so write about whatever you enjoy and feel capable of discussing!

If I knew what article to write, I would write it. But that's not you, that's me. When an idea comes to mind, start writing it, don't wait for that perfect idea. If you really can't think of anything, maybe you're not a writer.

If you've got "several ideas" then why not just start typing and see what comes out?

I have writer's block. I'm not very good in making abstract ideas.

Okay, so you have some ideas, yes?

So, look at your list of ideas and pick the one that appeals the most.

Try out some possible titles. Type them into Google and see what comes up. Get a feel for what other people are writing about, and then play around with it in your mind to see how you would write it.

Then write out a few sub-titles that would fit your preferred title. Again, just play around with them until you come up with four or five good ones. Put them into a nice, logical order.

Then you just write one or two paragraphs for each sub-title.

Tweak the writing. Proofread, add a couple of images and it's done.

        Publish.

I agree with FFC, just write quality content in areas you know enough about - later on you can identify topics you are getting hits on and write more content on them.

Just sort out what is there in your mind.Make a brain storming session what if you fail in QA just try try try again until u succeed.
The meaning of Fail is First Attempt in Learning so you are going to learn something new every time when you fail. So Failure is stepping stone to success.

      But I fear failing.

Better you fail trying than not trying at all...the best thing you can do is identify topics that have no high competition using a keyword tool of your choice and start publishing.

Write about whatever you're passionate about. If you know the style you want to use, surf the web for inspiration.

Ivan. Don't fear to fail quality. One tip I can give is. Write clear and short sentences. Avoid complex sentences. Read slowly what you have written and gauge if readers can understand that. Also, read loudly. If you are able to read smoothly aloud, it means it's a good (reader friendly) sentence. As long as the write up is easily understandable, it won't fail quality because of bad writing. As far as content is concerned, I have read your articles. They are informative. No problem there. So fear not.

Great for you to offer advice, but I'm not sold on the copious short sentences. Sure, you want your readers to understand what you're saying, but I wouldn't avoid "complex sentences"  when called for.

It's a debate for another time though. Ivan, write however and whatever you're comfortable with, and the rest will follow. Sometimes breaks from HubPages can help.

You can't "fail" at writing. You will grow. Constructive criticism is to help become a better writer. Plan your article out. What is it about? What are some sources (for science stuff)? What kind of visuals do I need to help those understand what I am writing? Is there a YouTube video that I can link at the bottom of the article that is related to my article and further the learning experience?

We all have our own writing styles. If you overthink the writing, it will show. We want to hear your voice.

Last, read other hubs. It will build you some confidence to see that others on here are not perfect. You got this! Just don't let the negativity get to you.

I suggest you first write about the subject in which you are an expert. Autism and related subjects do have many articles and websites associated with the subject, so it is best that you do not rehash  what has already been written. Find a personal angle on the subject and write from the heart as if you were talking to a friend. So much of the mental and physical health articles are written in doctored .... make the subject easy to understand for the layman, who is your target audience. Explain every medical term so your audience actually understands what you are talking about and is not put off and leaves.
