There are a few articles I would like to combine and revise. Is this ok to do?
I do this regularly because I think it is better to have one more detailed article than two shorter ones on similar topics.
I choose the article of those I wish to combine that has the most views, and use it as the basis for a redo.
I copy and paste sections from the other articles into that one, and then edit, upgrade and maybe even re-title it.
Then I delete the other articles and upgrade the one I edited onto the one that was left on the HP site.
Works like a charm...no duplicate content, no problems and a better article in the end. This also eliminates the chances that someone can steal an article in the meantime, but you should do the deleting and upgrading all at the same time to make this work correctly and safely.
My concern is that I will flag "duplicate content" filter or something if I try to combine two articles into one. Will this happen?
For example, I would like to combine my hubs "the Hero and the Dragon" and "Precession of the Equinoxes' into one hub. If I unpublish both of them first, combine them into one, and then delete one of them, will this work?
It's fine if you want to do this. Just make sure there are no copies of either of the hubs online first. Do a Google search using two to three sentences from each hub and if you find copies, file DMCA's first.
It worked! I checked for copies, found none. Then I combined the two articles, revised it a little, and then republishes it. It is featured now. So happy!
Combining relevant articles is indeed a pet theory of mine. It is apparently the universal consensus that Google goes <snipped> over deep content. I, too, am working on such a project as we speak.

I just got hit by a duplicate content unpublishing of one of my articles. For the record, it is my own work which I had originally published on another platform and wanted to relocate here. After deleting the article from the original site, I submitted a request with Google to have that deindexed...

Years ago, I took an "old" article and posted it on HP as three articles. Don't ask me why because I should not have done it. Now, I am going to merge them into one. The question is: Should I combine the two lowest viewed articles into the highest viewed article or does it matter? My...

Just curious, but does anyone have experience with this? How'd you do it? Did you tell Google the article moved somehow or do anything else fancy? Or did you just copy, paste, delete from HubPages, and wait for Google to catch up?Im guessing there might be some duplicate content penalties from...
