Ok, can we not just use the Adsense program anymore? I was using the ad program and Adsense.  Changed to just adsense and I finally started earning. (Except lately when Healdove took a nosedive). This is what I have on my account as of now-

WARNING: Your HubPages Earnings Program balance has not changed recently
Your HubPages Earnings Program balance has not changed in 3 months. A balance that is unchanged for 6 or more months may be forfeit. If your articles have traffic, please verify that you are configured to earn by the HubPages Ad Program and HubPages Amazon Program, instead of directly from Google AdSense and Amazon Associates. If your articles do not have traffic, it is unlikely that your balance will change.

Got the same warning awhile back.  Went back onto the HP program for one day, earned a few cents, and then switched back again. You have to show at least some earnings every 6 months or you can lose your account.

Now this is just a plain WTF. Can't wait to hear other responses.

For what it's worth, and if I understand correctly, I cashed out my last HP account balance before permanently(?) switching to straight AdSense.

I've had the same warning for several months. Don't worry, you aren't in jeopardy of losing your AdSense account. I don't think....  yikes

      Randy!

....but you are in danger of having your HubPages account declared inactive and losing the earnings in it.

The trick, as TT2 says, is to switch back for a few days every now and then.

No offense Randy, but that was not reassuring! LOL

I don't use the HP Amazon or HPads anyway, so I don't really care if they do away with my accounts in the in-house programs. So there's that...

So its ok if I  don't turn hp ads on then? Thanks for your help!!

Yes you do need to turn on HP Ads, but only for a few days, until it earns a few pennies.  Then you can turn it off again for another three months.

The other solution is to put a few Amazon products in your Hubs - if Amazon is making one or two sales now and then, that's enough to avoid the problem.

The point is that if you do nothing about it, your HubPages account could be deemed inactive.

If you are close enough to care, switch back to HP Ads, hit $52, then back to straight AdSense.

Randy is right. AdSense does not care about HP Ad Program dealings.

However, if you want to keep what you've already earned but have not hit the payout amount, you'll lose that money if you don't show earnings of some sort within 6 months because HP will consider the account as inactive and will close it.

...but if you lose your HP account, you won't earn anything because without having an active HP account,  there is no Adsense.

Just out of general paranoia, turned on the HP Ads Program for the day. Besides, am curious what the CPM is doing these days.
