Disapproved AdSense account due to 'Domain Ownership'

I have been trying for months to have an AdSense account approved, but my latest application was rejected for the following reason (given by AdSense):

    "
Domain ownership: To complete the AdSense approval process, you need to connect your site to AdSense. It’s so we can confirm you're that the owner of the site and that your site meets the AdSense policies. To connect your site (my link), copy the code from your AdSense homepage and paste it into the HTML of your site right after the  tag. Make sure that you place the code on a page that receives traffic.
    "

I was wondering how to do this? Will HubPages really allow me to alter the HTML of their site? Would really appreciate someone's input on what I'm doing wrong, thanks!

        Hi theraggededge,

Unfortunately it does not. I already followed all the steps in the article, but this is a specific issue that AdSense is telling me about, and it seems like it is unsolvable to me because I am not able to alter the HTML of HubPages.

It looks like Adsense is viewing your HP pages as though they were privately owned rather than part of the HP program.  This makes me think there is some sort of glitch that the team needs to address.  I would contact them asap for help.

I will try to contact HubPages, but I'm wondering if anyone else has found an answer to this yet. I received that same email from AdSense about domain ownership a couple days ago, but could make little sense of it. I am in the US and just recently activated an AdSense account through HubPages only. It is currently still marked Active, with a code number, and I have received a little bit of earnings. I wonder if this email was sent in error.

You need to send it to the email provided in the yellow colored answer posted previously.  Only hubstaff can fix it.

How are you applying for adsense? Are you going through hubpages because it looks like you're applying for a full Adsense account. (Which is not the one used with HP)

I've only ever applied through HP. That's why I'm confused when I get these messages.

The easiest way is to get Google Adsense through Youtube. Just create a channel, go to monetization and it will prompt you to create Adsense Account. Follow the steps and within one hour, you will receive an email from Google that your adsense account has been approved. Then link it with your HubPages. That's it.

I don't think that will work as I'm pretty sure it's a hosted account you get with Youtube.

It's working and I am using it here on HubPages.

    Don't apply through HubPages.

Be careful, because you're giving outdated advice.  It worked for you, but the rules have changed.  Nowadays if you get an Adsense account through Youtube then it's not valid for use on HubPages.

There are two choices - either apply with your own blog or apply through HubPages.

There are different types of AdSense accounts. If you apply via YouTube or HubPages, it's called a hosted account and can only be used on ONE partner site. In other words, if you applied via YouTube, you can still use it on HubPages, but you wouldn't get any AdSense earnings at all!

I made this mistake and languished over it for a year. My YouTube AdSense approval allows HubPages Ads earnings, but not a cent came through within AdSense at all.

I see! Thanks for the heads up and the insightful advice. I think it just comes down to the fact that I need to send an email to the HubPages team. Seems to be a technical error that I'll need administrative advice on.

You live in Tanzania.  Google has some extra rules that apply to African countries.   It means you must wait six months before you apply for Adsense. They won't even consider you before that.

    hello,
I contacted hp team via their email address and got approved, below is their email
    .............................................................................................................................................................

    Hi Kiluwasha,

    Thank you for contacting us.

Your AdSense account is connected and active on HubPages:
    ...................................................................................................................................................
However i still cant log in into adsense,  as you can see below :-
Thank you for your continued interest in AdSense. Unfortunately, we were unable to approve your initial application. To resubmit your application, complete the fields below.

For your application to be successful, make sure you've resolved the issues described in the disapproval email we sent you:

If your application was disapproved because it matches a currently approved AdSense account, then you must close your other account before you reapply.
If your application was disapproved because your site doesn't follow the AdSense program policies, then you must fix the issues with your site before you reapply.
For more information, visit the AdSense Help Center.
