Hi Hubbers,
I'd like some help with passing the Quality Assessment Process. Will you please give feedback on my article Best Gel Nail Polish Art Designs You Can Always Try. What can I do to improve? Can I add links to it or more images? or is it again the guidelines?
Sorry for all those questions I'm new here and would like to know many things. Thanks!
Hi there,
Welcome to HubPages.
There are several problems with your hub.
* It needs proofreading. There are several grammatical errors and typos.
* St Paddy, not St Patty.
* Cork-tipped nails? Corks?
* Odd and awkward sentences. Example:
"As the name suggests, the design looks gorgeous owing to the swirling pattern. While these might appear tacky, they look marvelous when you’re getting ready for a party."
Gorgeous/tacky/marvellous are contradictory. Why would you describe your design as 'tacky'?
* The description of the nail art does not match the images. This is confusing and misleading. How does your reader know if these designs are any good if they can't see them? If you are a nail artist, then take photographs of the designs that you created yourself. Step-by-step images to accompany clear directions would make your article useful and an excellent resource.
Spend a little time researching what HubPages requires. https://hubpageshelp.com/

Good luck.
Hi, pinkgellac! I think that the idea behind your hub is very searchable but it will need some tweaking to be seen as genuine, original content and not just overly-promotional.
The first thing I would do is take out the link. I understand that HubPages probably seems like a good place to boost your personal sites and it can be, but you have to build trust with Google first, so you need to take your link out (and maybe just mention your website in your bio, that way if readers want more info they can find it there).
Your pictures are nice but I think that have to be bigger. I could be wrong, I've just noticed with my own articles that the ones with horizontal photos don't do as well or take longer to pass quality assessments.
On that note, you should also credit the source of each photo
Lastly, it's a good idea to try and write at least 1200 words of substance. Others will disagree but in my own experience, having at least 1200 words in an article boosts it's credibility in search engines and that's what you want! Your main goal is to write to please Google. The things that Google loves most are:
- Articles without lots of links or sales capsules
- Longer length articles with content that's original, thought-provoking and of substance.
- Searchable titles. So, for your article, I think that the title would be better if it was something along the lines of "Best Gel Nail Polish Design Ideas"
Just think of how someone might phrase something as they're searching for it. That was something I had trouble with for a long time on here because in college we were always taught to come up with clever and wordy titles. That doesn't work on Google, unfortunately.
Last, and this is just a personal preference - it might be a good idea to do a step-by-step guide for each design on how to achieve the design. So, something like:
Step 1: Paint pink base coat.
Step 2: Let dry for two minutes.
Step 3: Paint one white stripe along bed of each nail.
And so on. I actually know nothing about gel nail polish, I bite my nails! But you get the idea - that will help you add substance AND word count.
I have one more idea! Your topic seems like it would do great on Pinterest - you can use Canva to create Pinterest graphics for free.
Also, I said "Last" a lot, like "oh this is my final idea" but apparently I had more, oops!
Hi pinkgellac
I see you added images. However, the very first one is copyrighted to a site called Chalkboard Nails. The watermark has been cropped out of your photo. You need to know that Chalkboard Nails could make a demand for payment for unauthorised use of their photo.
You have to have written permission to use a copyright image.
Otherwise stick to using Creative Commons photos which are licensed for commercial use, Public Domain images, or your own photos.

You state that the nail art in the photo is created by adding white stripes over a pink base. That isn't correct. They were created using tape. Pink over white.
